Great pictures. I love NASCAR too! Never been to a race though. We've been to quite a few CART (Indy Car) races across the river in Portland. There's nothing like actually being there!

I don't "get" NASCAR. I can't figure out the appeal of watching cars go around in circles. I do however enjoy watching men go around in circles (baseball). Perhaps I should give men-in-cars-going-around-in-circles a try. :rotflol:

Men in cars going at almost 200 miles an hour and being in control (or not) and competing with other men doing the same thing and watching the strategy of teammates and the highs and lows of a race is exhilarating. You can watch someone run the best race of their lives and run out of gas on the last lap, or come from behind and win, or just be the best consistently.
Men and machines, competing against other men and their machines, being proud of what they do, and being part of a "bigger" family, that is what NASCAR is.
It's cool. It's hot. It's fun.

He took heat from NASCAR about it. And from Goodyear. And I am sure his own sponsor gave him a talking to.

It was funny how the interviewer kind of paused like he didn't know how to respond, and then didn't.

Not the race he was whining about, but he may have been in a bad mood after this crash in Las Vegas:
And the winner is... Carl Edwards, and here is a shot of him on top of the car getting ready to do his backflip off of it. Video will be loaded in a little while :)
I think Mr. Grumpy Pants needs to smile in pictures once in a while!
So now Deb is a Nascar Redneck. geez

It won't pay off. He's getting bashed for it by his peers (except Dale Jarret) and Goodyear has the contract for a few more years. They have no incentive to listen to his complaints, other than avoiding the bad press it generated. They will say they have done something, but it will be lip service.
After all, they were talking about how great the tires worked because none blew. Meanwhile Stewart was talking about how unsafe they were.
Complaining will probably hurt him more than help him. But it may have been a chance worth taking, since nothing would ever be done if someone didn't stick there neck out and make a few waves in the first place.

Sometimes the anticipation of the steak makes the steak all the more wonderful when you get it.
