A blog is usually an online diary; a personal log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called a Weblog. It is typically updated daily. Blogs often reflect the personality of the author and are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order.

I often see the question, “Can I make money with affiliate marketing on a blog?” The answer is yes.

If you are new to blogging and affiliate marketing, I suggest that you start off with Blogger. You can go to blogger.com and have a blog up and running in under an hour. Pick a unique topic and you could rank on the first or second page of Google.

For instance you could create a blog about Green Tea. You could write a post reviewing the different green teas. Then place affiliate links to our green tea offers within your posts. You can also place banner ads on your blog that link to our green tea offers. We currently have 2 green tea offers that you can place on a blog pays a $25.00 and $26.00 CPA.

If you are a more advanced blogger and affiliate marketer you could host your own Wordpress blog on your own server. You will be able to edit your blog, add other widgets and plug-ins that you do not have with Blogger. It will take longer to get your blog up and running with Wordpress.

A benefit to blogger is that Google hosts your pictures on your blog. This will help bring traffic to your site, which is your ultimate goal.

After having no success with traditional websites and affiliate marketing, I went to blogging and it made all the difference in the world.

I think it depends on the webmaster and/or blogger. Blogging works better for me because I can easily update, but I am also a writer, so I can easily update my blogs with relevant and useful information. Not to mention, at this point, blogs are pretty much the norm.

I'd also recommend Typepad. There is a monthly fee, but with Typepad, you can create pages that allow you to directly market your programs. I use Typepad with Popshops and have a blog and shop in one easy to update site. :)

kellyfilm,

I am glad that you found blogging to be successful for you. One of the best things about affiliate marketing is that there is so many different avenues that you can take. If one way doesn't work for you, you can try another. I like that blogs are really easy to update. If you don't have a lot of programming knowledge, blogging is an excellent way to make money on the web with affiliate marketing.
