Just wanted to let all our NY affiliate brothers and sisters know that, while the current state of affairs with the NY tax fiasco doesn't affect us (YET!), I, for one, am by your side and will help you fight this insanity.

I see this as a threat to our entire industry and not solely a "New York affiliate" issue but one we all need to battle.

Merchants who drop NY affs at this point in time will not be promoted on my site in solidarity with NY affiliates.

Yes thanks Rexanne. It is very hard to have one's source of income taken away. This is my livelihood and I now find myself wondering if it's worth it. If the legal case takes years to settle I can see it getting worse for everyone; it's not just going to stop with NY affiliates. Some merchants are dropping affiliates without explanation and I believe this is to save their reputation - they don't want to be known as a merchant who dropped Ny'ers because of the tax.

An almost funny aspect is that I will be moving by next year. I will never promote the merchants who drop NY'ers regardless of where I live.

It means a lot to have you acknowledge there are real people being affected. Publishers are people too.
