So one of the stops this past week was a trip to the Denver Butterfly Conservatory with 6 kids and 3 relatively grownups :) JGoode and crew, my friend Karen (who is just getting into affiliate marketing) and her kids, and me and Jesse. I expected to be hurried through the conservatory with kids from ages 1 to 14, but they were all pretty fascinated by the variety of things there were besides butterflies! Here are some photos, more will be posted to Nightfire site in the coming weeks, and of course to Loxly Gallery :) But these are my favs :)

Before we got to the butterflies there was a different kind of bug room that included Rosie the Tarantula! We got to hold her. Carefully :)

You aren't allowed to touch the butterflies, but if they land on you it's fine :) And if one lands on you, you are supposed to make a wish and it will come true. Well, a beautiful Blue Morpho female landed on my toe and Karen got a great photo of her. She stayed there quite a while, I wasn't going to risk hurting her by shooing her away:

And finally, Karen took a picture of me with this Julia butterfly while I took a pic of it :)

Creepy is right! I've had some strange pets in the past - but could never do a spider

Great pictures Deb! Those will be fun to mat. :-)

Tarantula bellies are really soft - they feel like velvet. I did the "hold a tarantula" thing at my daughter's preschool - I was flipped and very weirded out by that big ol SPIDER but wanted to set an example of "no fear" for my baby. LOL - I can do snakes but spiders freak me out, no matter what their bellies feel like. UGH and eeeeeeeewwww

Deb you look a whole lot braver and calmer than I was holding a BEAST of a spider. *shudder*

lol after all the rest of the kids did it, I had too :)

And yes, the kids were all great! No one asked me to hurry and be done, I didn't feel like I was inconveniencing anyone and I got my fill of butterflies. About 400 new images to play with :)

I need to find a butterfly conservatory close enough to drive to around here :) Or build my own...

And, I thought going on most roller coasters at Cedar Point last weekend was a "no fear" moment to be proud of for my seven year old son.

But, Tarantulas! Are you kidding. I hesitated to even read this post for fear of what I might see.

Hats off to you Momma. I'll pass thought. I would have left the room I am so terrified.
