The first 4 photos were taken at a Scenic Viewing Area called Ghost Rock Overlook in Utah. The signs there said that these were the canyons that Butch Cassidy and his gang hung out at.
The last 2 were taken at Bryce Canyon Utah, a last minute stop we decided to make that ended up being one of the many highlights of the trip.
He went for a walk in "Park Avenue" and almost fell in...

Beautiful country out there. Great pix, Debbie. Looks like you guys had a great trip.
That brings back fond memories of a trip to Monument Valley a few years back. Mrs. Beachy and I went four-wheelin' in the desert surrounding the "monuments" with her new Jeep. :)

Awesome photos Deb! I especially like the "absolutely no naggin" sign...definitely need one of those.
That was on the fence at a neat little restaurant in a small town in Utah. I envision that on a poster... :)

Very nice scenery and seemed like you all had fun! Some pics seem like they were taken at dusk or dawn. How hot/cool was it there this time of year?
Never been there but would love to go some day. :)

Hey! Where's the cow shots?
Of all the cool stuff we saw, the best (for a city boy) was on some small road in the middle of nowhere and we were delayed while a heard of cows crossed the street!
When they're right next to the car... cows are HUGE!!!
My staged falling off a cliff shot... I like the one below the best. I go though all the trouble of making believe I'm falling 5000 feet, only to find out that my son is STANDING next to me... sorta killing the dramatic moment - lol
and one more... Bryce Canyon is in the middle of nowhere. At any given moment, there's probably no more then 50 people in the entire county... yet there are THREE identical Rav4 (or whatever the name of the rental was) all together

I thought I loaded the cows, they will get their own thread in a bit. :)

Those mountains and canyons are incredible. I've made the drive from Los Angeles to Denver many times and the scenery is unreal. Knew you'd be in photog heaven the whole way. :-)
Deb did you get any shots of Virgin Canyon in AZ?

We left Bryce Canyon late at night
My map said a shortcut to I-15 back to Vegas was a road called SR9
We get on that road... a pretty winding mountain road... which led to a sign that says "Welcome to Zion National Park"
Aargh
Yep. We had to zip thru the whole Nat'l Park in pitch black darkness from one end to the other.
If you've been there and know that long tunnel thru the mountain, followed by the hairpin turns down to the Valley floor... Debbie didn't breathe for 20 minutes :)
And Jesse didn't open his eyes until 2 hours later - lol
Some shortcut!! LOL

There isn't anyplace to stop in Virgin Canyon to take pics, and when we went through during the day I was driving :)
And yeah, Billy isn't allowed to choose shortcuts any more. And it was a good thing he was sleeping when we drove through the Rockies on I40, lol. Jesse had fun but it was pretty steep most of the time. I remember thinking at least it was daylight and that wouldn't be a fun drive at night. Well.... Zion at night is scary.

Btw, am I the only one here that think, that this rock look like the head of ET?
good one mr sal! Even Billy didn't see that, and he is pretty good at seeing faces in rocks.
The scenics will end up at Loxly Gallery eventually, there are some stunning vistas and views. This set is just the people pics for everyone to enjoy. There are over 2000 other photos from the trip! Billy will even have his own page at Loxly Gallery soon :)
