Billy's Pledge to affiliates:

1. To treat you with respect, courtesy and as an equal partner. To show that YOU are the reason the program exists.
2. To listen to you: comments, complaints, suggestions, compliments, special needs, whatever.
3. To have the best commissions, cookies and TOS we can make.
4. To not send numerous "We've changed our terms again/please log in and accept" emails.
5. To make the program as personal as possible. I've asked my OPM to maintain TWO mailing lists. One for people that want to be left alone. And one for people who want suggestions, tips, etc.
6. To maintain banners in all sizes and styles. To insure we always have Seasonal banners available, also in all sizes.
7. To insure the graphics in the datafeed maintain the same size, as a pet peeve of mine is merchants whose product images are all different sizes.
8. To always be parasite free and ethical.
9. I will stay out of the program personally. I don't even want to know who my affiliates are. Rolet is charged with handling ALL affiliate matters, while I just concentrate on processing orders.
10. To recognize affiliates that go above and beyond with above and beyond commission rates.
11. To make ourselves available to our affiliates - whatever it takes.

Thanks all... I only have a few posts to make... I'll split them up...

I've been an authorized reseller of Crystalworks products for 10 years. I've had a private affiliate program for awhile - basically for just friends here at ABW - who either didn't have a shopping cart, no government resale number, no business license, didn't want to deal with customers... whatever their reasons

The products ARE really great - and they've always done well on The Mail Order Shoppe, so I made a dedicated crystal site for those folks to link to

Hope I explain it right... the most important thing is I consider this OUR site. It exists JUST for affiliates. I look at EVERY sale produced from this site as free money that I wouldn't have had - and that free money is coming from YOU.

Normally I make about 35% on these items. HALF of that goes right to the affiliates. Then SAS and Aunesty get their cuts - lol. Unlike real merchants with budgets and overhead... I don't care if I make only a dollar on a sale - as I said, I look at it as free money anyway!!

If I did my job correctly - and there were LOTS of people you all know giving input - then it's an easy site for customers, and a hassle-free site for affiliates. I hope when you log into SAS and see your list of merchants, when you see our name you get a "warm glow" rather then my usual feeling of "how can I blow them up and not be prosecuted" - LOLOL

There's more cool stuff, I'll post later

Now it's my turn to hold off on the comments LOL!!!! =0) Looks like a fantastic team and product line. Great job guys!

Billy, does this mean you will be buying affiliates drinks and dinner in Boston? hahahha ;-)

Billy Kay

LOL Adam...

My Billy kay response: I'll buy one of your MODELS a drink :)

My merchant response... other then my original group, I don't know who my affiliates are

Stuff that worked great when it was just me and stuff that worked great when just trusted friends were linking, takes on a whole different meaning when it's open to everyone

Will Billy use my great PPC words? Will Billy steal my site design? I can tell someone like you I don't even do PPC. I can tell you that I've been pretty successful with my own site, don't need to steal yours.

But someone who doesn't know me from Adam (hey! that's cool - lol), it would fall on deaf ears.

So what we did is Loxly set up the initial SAS interface, gave the merchant login to me so I could make the initial deposit, then I gave that info to Aunesty who changed the login and password.

So I don't even have access to my own program on SAS - lololol

Aunesty and I have talked daily for 4 months. She's come to Vegas several times to work on this. I met her in Denver last week to finalize any last minute concerns...

I trust and respect her. I gave her 100% carte blanche on the affiliate program. She'll make all the decisions. My only participation will be to process the orders and deal with any customer issues that come up, which is what I do on a daily basis anyway.

What a great opportunity for us! Outstanding. Already applied and got acceptance; now I've requested FTP access for the datafeed.

Really looking forward to getting something up in the next couple of days! Thanks for the opportunity to work with such classy people!

Approved you for FTP access a moment ago... :)

Wow - I am so moved by the support and wonderful comments many of you have made! I am truly looking forward to managing this program and watching it become very successful....and I am even looking forward to the daily BK comments, although he is managing to duck most of my smacks....I need to work on my speed......

This part is way cool...

Crystalworks has about 300 engravable crystal items. The Mail Order Shoppe has carried about 100 (that I picked randomly years ago). But I put them ALL on the crystal site... and they SELL! Every day when I'm processing orders, I have to add a new item to Quickbooks, because it isn't in my product database.

But even cooler...

They have another 300 products designed for corporate use only. Instead of being engraved with the name "John", it requires a logo for Marriot. PLUS, you had to order a minimum of 50, there was a logo setup charge, etc.

I randomly asked them last January if my customers can order just one, with a name instead of a logo, with no minimum order or setup charge, because to me what's the difference between crystal candy dish #1 and crystal candy dish#2? Looks like they both can be engraved with "John".

They said since I'm their favorite reseller, go for it!

So until yesterday, I was the only person in the world that could sell these items. Other resellers could, but there were minimums, mailing in logos, etc. So now our affiliates will have these products excluseively - NO COMPETITION!!!

If you go to the site and see a product that has a NAME engraved on it... that's the normal product.

If you see a product with the image showing a corporate logo (and I placed the engraving font choices below the image)... no one else has those!!

Here's an example:

http://engravedcrystalshoppe.com/engraved-crystal-golf-pilsner-glass.htm

The graphic shows a logo on the pilsner glass, because it's supposed to be sold to corporations in large quantities. I manually added the font choices below it so people will see it can also just be engraved with "John". But we're the only ones who offer it engraved or just one at a time.

LOL - bad example, as this particular product is sold as a set of four - but you get my drift :)

Sounds like a great advantage, and one that could be very easily and effectively promoted by affiliates. Congratulations on your past track record with CW and on your very promising affiliate program. I'm sure it will work out to be a success for everyone involved.

LOL

Logging into SAS and doing a merchant search for... uh... ME is an odd experience! I wanna click the "Contact this Merchant" link and curse myself out!!!

There's a part of the site that's very profitable - but currently hidden - because as I said earlier, things that worked when it was private are a LOT different when it's for the masses.

The corporate logo stuff. Recently, an Indian casino/Resort in Arizone bought 500 crystal candy dishes with their logo for every room in their hotel at about $45 a pop. (Do the math!!!!)

People who spend that kind of money don't just go to an online order form and click "Buy Now"

They have questions.

They have this on their logo, but would like us to add this before making the product.

They obviously email with "I'm buying 200. Do I get a discount"?

My private program didn't use cookies - I actually made an order form for each product and gave it a 3-letter extension so I'd know the affiliate.

If someone bought Product# PJ001 - it's my sale

If they bought product # PJ001-LOX... same item, but obviously Loxly made the sale.

Product# PJ001-REX... mental note to send Rexanne some money :)

We "almost" have a solution that works for the masses

Obviously I have a set discount for buy 20 it costs this much each, buy 100, they cost this much, etc.

It will take 5 seconds to post it on the site... but I have to program the shopping cart for it, and that will take some time.

And the large corporate orders take time. They go back and forth on the logo - can take 3 weeks - until they're satisfied. And in that time, they can decide they don't like their logo when it's as small as needed to be on a wine glass. And if the affiliate was already credited with a $10,000 sale... how do I say Sorry, dude... uh... logo issues...we have to take it back.

So far, the best solution is a combination of cookies and trust... I'll brainstorm it another week before deciding...

Plan is to program the LOGO order forms to only allow ONE item - even if they want 100. We go back and forth on the logo until they approve the final proof... then we send them a link to an order form where they can order the other 99. In theory, their cookie is already set and the referring aff will be credited. But what if they deleted their cookies in the interim?

Yes we know who originally referred it and can manually add Gary's affID to the other 99... but that's a program based on trust - not technology.

Soon as we figure the best course, it will open a highly profitabe - one order a month and you're set - part of the program

Every time I get a sale, I ask Aunesty if it's an aff sale... she checks and says "organic"

She also said I get some kind of email from SAS when it's an aff sale.

Well... the first one has officially arrived:

Forgot to add that the new feed is live on PopShops - http://www.popshops.com/ecs

Okay! But -- I went to PopShops, looked through the inventory on personalized signs, and clicked through to the landing pages.

The landing page I was sent to for every personalized sign was the page where they fill in the custom information, checkout, buy, whatever. Yet no where do they FIRST get to a landing page showing the specific sign they are ordering.

Shouldn't they click through the PopShops link on my site to the, for example, "Personalized Moose Sign" page at the merchant to get a good look at what the sign looks like -- THEN go to the order page?

I have a site specifically targeting people buying furnishings, furniture, and decor for "rustic log cabin living," and thought this would work well. But if the person leaves my site with only a glance at the actual sign, then are asked to immediately fill in personalized order info -- how well does that convert??

Thanks!
