There are, indeed, some awesome photographs in that compendium. I like the initial couple of (almost) B&W images about the best. The Ruhr steel plant(s) image makes a powerful statement.

I also like the Boeing assembly line image - but for other reasons. :D

That is a fantastic set of photos, not only are they great images, they show things we tend to forget or might not know. Like I never thought about planes coming off of an assembly line! I guess I thought they were more of a one at a time production. One of the most interesting to me is the very last one, #45 shows the cutter they use to cut into the bedrock under Manhattan to extend the subway! That's actually scary, lol.

I love photos that feature fire, there are several that are stunning.
