Maybe it is just my lack of sleep but I found Jeff's explanations much more lucid than Todd's or smesser's.

Hi all,

I just wanted to let everyone know that after two years, I will finally be taking a vacation next week (starting today) to try to get some needed rest. I look forward to finishing this discussion when I get back. It has been very good so far and I look forward to continuing it further upon my return.

I hope everyone has a great week next week and I look forward to speaking to you (rested) again soon.

Best regards,
Stephen

Me too, RC. I wonder if it's coz he's a tech guy and we're techies, too. I don't think Todd or Stephen have a tech background.

Oh well, tune in week after next for the next episode of, "As The Cookie Crumbles." (Ba-da-da-dum)

Stephen,

Vacation sounds good. Oddly enough, I'm off for a week as well. At least I know that I won't miss anything here while I'm gone!

I would be totally fried after two years
of nonstop computer work.

Have a good vacation!

After clicking on one of my links and looking in the cookies folder there are quite a few text files that have been created from that one click.

Can anyone explain which each text file does and how to interpret the information that is in there?

I'm trying to make sure that any links i have up and any cookies that are set up follow the correct protocol.

I'll also be posting this similar question on the BeFree board as i assume they operate somewhat differently.

Thanks.

I thought the cookies are tracked and placed on the visitors computer--not ours(not the affiliate).

All this is just huff and puff,

The only thing that counts is the money.

We run Linkshare links side by side with CJ links.

The return from CJ over three months has been 968 times greater than the Linkshare links. The only reason we keep Linkshare is because they have some quality merchants that make our site look good.

I agree that it is a bunch of huff and puff. But we too run both CJ and LS side by side and found the reverse to be true. More $$$ from LS than CJ. But the most accurate for us is Amazon. Go figure.
