Hello Everyone,
There has been a few emails coming from affiliates recently with the following in the message body.
"Please have a look at the attached file", or "Your file is attached", or "please read attached"
Usually it will say From (name)@yahoo.com(or another domain) to affiliates@shop4tech.com or affiliates@jewelswarehouse.com or jorge@jrami.com
It never has any other information in the Message Body of the email. Everyone should know that anything that comes as an attachment can contain a virus, parasite, spyware, etc.
I've been getting these now for about the past 30 days and according to trend micro it is called WORM_ZAFI.D (http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_ZAFI.D) not sure if it's the same one I am getting but it sounds similar in description.
I suspect these are not from you, real affiliates, but in the event you do want to send me an attached file, please send me an email first saying:
Jorge this is (your name, from (domain) I am going to send you an attached file in the next email that contains (so and so) please take a look at it.
(your name)
I hope everyone does the same and takes preventive measures of their own too. There has been allot of new Trojans lately and with Holiday messages and greetings. Having been in the backup business for a long time, I have seen many people loose all their data upon rebooting their computer as a virus infected their computer over night.
It is just a preventive measure. You will also never receive an attached file from me unless I send you a prior notice also.
Just be careful!
