Seems to be acting fishy, can't quite put my finger on it yet. Anyone else want to take it for a test drive?

Connie,

Did you see a software reminder download anywhere? I didn't register, but on the rest of the site I didn't find one.

From their faq:

quote:
2. Do I need to start at the Box Tops Marketplace every time I shop?
Yes. In order to ensure that all of your purchases are credited to your designated school, you must start at the Box Tops Marketplace before making a purchase. If you don't start at the Box Tops Marketplace, your designated school will not receive credit for your purchase.

3. What if I forget to shop through the Box Tops Marketplace?
Purchases made online that don't originate through the Box Tops Marketplace will not be credited to your designated school. To ensure that your school earns cash every time you shop online, be sure to always start at the Box Tops Marketplace. Bookmark the page or place it in your browser's favorites to make it easier to remember.

That would seem to indicate just an incent site and not parasitic. Unless they have something hidden in the member section once you register (which some sites have done).

Doesn't the link I posted take you to the reminder page? Maybe you need to register first. But it is a Top Moxie Download.

1. Download Shopping Reminder. It's easy and takes just a few seconds.

2. If you forget to start your online shopping through the Marketplace and visit one of our participating stores, a window will pop up to remind you.

3. Simply click the "Earn Cash For Your School Now" button to earn cash for your school on your qualifying purchases.

It's that easy! Never miss out on a potential donation because you didn't know a particular store belonged to the Box Tops Marketplace.

I would like to download the Box Tops for Education Marketplace Reminder (powered by Top Moxie). I have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions.

No took me to a login page. Thought it was just called reminder as in log in.

GRRRRRR! So they are one of the stinkers who hides the download in the registered part of the site.

I'll register, download, and be all over it later today after some sleep. Considering I thought reminder just meant I should log in. http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And see you are not a BIG LOSER. Good catch, the little lying (insert your favorite explective). Will get a merchant list together also.

I have the thing on my computer, and sometimes when clicking on affiliate links I am getting weird refreshes after the merchant site loads.
I am working on checking out the cookies right now.

Definitely Parasitic!

But boy if I was these guys I would be asking for a refund from Top Moxie. The software got so excited over some redirects (more than once) that it kept popping up and redirecting off it's own redirect getting itself in a loop. For the most part, they do make you click the button on the pop up that you want cash back for your school. However, they were popping on all kinds of affiliate links including straight affiliate links.

Connie I saw some of that strange page refresh stuff also. Think I caught it a couple of times on video. The actual web page refreshes but the url box remains unchanged. That's going to take some closer looking into to. I did notice this also happening (with a static url box on page reload) when the software looped itself. That peaks my interest.

Here's the merchant list. In fairness, some of these merchants may very well not be aware of the TopMoxie app as I could find no mention of it on their site until you register. As soon as you register however the landing page upon completetion of the registration had the download in your face.

They were also nice enough to provide a download version of their merchant list. It's attached if anyone wants to use it for reference while they work and not have to come back to this thread.

Oops sorry..no attachment. Won't let me attach a .pdf file.

I assume the major company legitimately pushing Cereal Boxtops 4 schools would be very interested in the history and innerworkings of TopMoxie powered programs. Hard for General Mills to justify putting cockroaches in their cereal boxes no matter how many steps they took to santitize them. Even disguising them as raisens wouldn't pass the muster of consumer advocates.

The normal PP merchants are on the list volunteering doubling their normal affiliate commissions for this DUPER operation.

Hey Rick. Why don't you just ask TopMoxie to inform you of all their new "powered by" BHO launches. Maybe the short cut would be a merchant disclaimer in the TOS stating NO Commissions will be paid to any TopMoxie powered BHO affiliate.

You can take Zappos off the list. I just got this email back from Jack...

quote:
Thanks! I am, as you say, "against that type of thing." I double checked both
affiliates, and I thought you would enjoy seeing this directly from my CJ Mail

With help from people like you, I try to run the cleanest program humanly

If you are affiliated with any of those merchants, forward this page to them. Many don't know who all of their affiliates are, and who can keep track with so many of us out here. http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif We are the ones who make the programs better. Great Catch Miss Flamingo, http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/yelclap.gif

As long as we have people like you and miss b, haiko and others that put their own time and effort to look out for all of us, we will have a chance to make this business a little more fair.

I wish we could have more people that will get involve.

This is really redicoulous for everyone to go through all this policing when all they have to do is put a NO NO sign and strike one and you are out and they get to keep the commission for these scums.

Come on merchants there are alot of people that making good money in this business without parasitic practice and not double dipping you.
Wake up will you pls and have a good christmas spirit and do right!
