Nice to see someone at CJ to replace my 2 year old links to eCost and ABT electronics. They sure haven't converted very well for me in home electronics. Welcome aboard ABW and I'm sure Andy at TigerDirect and the other merchants will show you how creatives and landing pages work wonders for the active affiliates.

Hi Matt and Welcome!

I was just checking out the site and it seems like 50% of the products you carry are out of stock. Is this normal? I also notice the box for a visitor to add their email addy to be notified by email when the product comes back in stock.

I was just wondering if when the customer receives the back in stock email from Vanns does the affiliate get credit for the sale? Also how long are the products usually out of stock for? Thanks Matt!

Yes, we do have several items right now that are low on inventory. However, I can tell you that we are (of course) bringing in our Holiday Season Inventory right now and our warehouse is actually busting at the seams. In fact, on some items like the Onyko HTS-650 Home Theater in Box we have so many we can't put them away!

Since we have direct relationships with all the vendors whose products we sell we have a really good supply chain. Most items are never out of stock for more than 7 to 10 business days. However, there are (as always) extremely popular items that are sometimes hard to come by. In general what I would say is that if an item is out of stock it should more than likely be back in stock within our cookie duration (45 days).

Now as far as would an affiliate still get a commission? Yes, as long as the cookie for that customer is still active or the customer hasn't cleared it out for some reason. Here's an example of one of the stock notification emails:

On 10/26/2002 you asked us to notify you when the Onkyo HT-S755DVC became available. The Onkyo HT-S755DVC are now in-stock at Vanns.com. To purchase this item now click the following link:

As you can see, we direct the customer to our site rather than emailing us or calling us to place the order...So you can still get the commission.

Must be because I'm Canadian.

Yes, it was because your located outside the United States. However, if the majority of your traffic is U.S. based I'd be happy to approve you. Due to Vendor agreements we can not ship outside of the U.S. so I set up the automatic rejections to assist with that. Also, I didn't want to mislead any potential consumers and come up short on the customer service end if we ended up not be able to ship to them.
