We tried this awhile back and I think it is something we definately need. If you make a purchase with a merchant, be it a test or any purchase why not list the results all in one thread. IMO it is something to help us keep track of merchants and tracking but it will also keep the merchants on their toes knowing that at anytime a positive or negative purchase result will show up and it could be them.
Haiko, any chance of having a catagory just for test purchase results from merchants?
By all means this isn't just to list test sales that didn't track. Please list the results of sales that do show up for a merchant also. That will let us all know who is on the up and up and who isn't. Any thoughts????

I made a purchase at 123 Inkjets tonight. It showed up no problem within a few minutes. Jeeesh I have enough ink now to open my own business. Keep testing People!

Great idea for a thread. My timing is bad, though... I made a purchase tonight for a cj merchant who batches, and now cj is doing maintenance (unless I am remembering the date wrong), so it'll likely be a few days before it shows up.

I've purchased from the following and had all track correctly (probably others, but this is everything I can think of off the top of my head):
I've purchased from 2 CJ merchants and all of they've tracked correctly

The idea of a test purchase thread would be great since it is the only way to reward a merchant like TigerDirect thta posted my 4 sales within 2 days. It alos is a RED FLAG to the merchants and networks when I performed several tests on Dell -The Outpost -Camera Zone and others where they not only didn't report the sales but me or a friend actually received the product.
Getting a merchant to respond to e-mails on an acquisations they are defrauding their affiliates is a tough one and therefore this type of public stockaide is necesary. Make sure all the pertinent information is provided along with provable backup to the claim they don't record sales or reverse legit sales. Then let's bring the networks to tasks for sponsoring crooks.

I have made multiple purchases through Tiger Direct, I am a geek after all, and one through Overstock and they all tracked wonderfully.

vBulletin tracked both my purchases, and tracked a sale from a "competitor" I talked into buying vBulletin. That's three out of three. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You guys are gonna need a summary out of all this or it'll end up being a major research project.
Something like (using TD as an example because everybody knows them):

Looks like a good response. Keep them coming. I figure with over 5000 members here at ABW we can do our own compliance. I'll try to keep the list updated. It would be nice to have an idea if the purchases were made recently also.

Strawberrynet.com - always tracks, (order sometimes addressed wrongly if the delivery address and CC address is different).
CatalogueCity.co.uk - tracks.
Kays UK - always tracks, very fast delivery.
Amazon.com - always tracks.
Amazon-co.uk - never tracks.
Art.com - always tracks.
'always' and 'never' mean more than one purchase.

JayBat, Good idea. When I get a chance I'll come up with something like you suggested. I still would like to see the way I am doing it also just in case some of us have a question about when the order was placed and which links were used we will know who to ask for info. This way we can have the long version and also as you suggested a quik peak to keep them more organized. Any thoughts?

Devil's advocate, here.
I am not saying this is right but I susupect it will happen.
If you complain, The merchant will just say you didn't post the code correctly so it is your fault.
Sheesh... where could I POSSIBLY get such a thought???????

I can only edit here for 30 Minute after so I'll have to just copy and paste it in a new post to update.
Doc, nothing wrong with being the Devils advocate. Hopefully a merchant in question will come and defend their stats. It would be nice to have more open dialog with more merchants here. It's still nice to keep them on their toes and let them know that from here on there is a merchant compliance team. 5000+ on our team. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well on a Bright side at least more are tracking than not. But it looks like as it stands about a 25% loss of sales for these test puchases. I don't do math so the figure could be wrong. Keep em coming!

My neighbor bought a Sony notebook and extra battery pack from eCost off one of my Mall links while I was at his house. It shipped fine with the notebook arriving one day after the battery pack. Sales credit was shown but reversed 5 days later with the reason "other". My brothers oldest son bought a replacement rocket launcher kit and extra fuel from eHobbies.com from my Malls hobby shop while at my house. The sale never showed up.
So add eCost & eHobbies to the bad tracking list as I feel phony reversals are just as bad.
