For the followers of the Great Google God.. what is the *best* PageRank you have been able to get on any of your sites? (You might need the Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/) for this)

The best I ever got was a 6 on two sites, but I wasn't able to make it stick for more than one index.
Currently I have quite a few 5s, though.
(For the record I don't consider Google a "God"...but it'd still be nice to have PR10 anyway!)

Hmmm.. I guess I'm kind of digging as well about how important PR really is to affiliates.

Plenty of 4,5 and 6s - one 8 and really I couldn't care less about PageRank. If I never read another thread about it on another forum, it will be too soon.
Oh and expect some dramatic changes over the next two Google updates. You have been warned /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

>>I guess I'm kind of digging as well about how important PR really is to affiliates.<<
I have one site (content) that fluctuates between a 7 and an 8; my sales pages range from 3-6.
But I've gotten wayyyyyy more mileage out of optimization than PR. It is quite easy to have a page with a high PR that doesn't rank well for anything except the site's name. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
And I haven't run a comparison recently, but a few months ago did and I found my PR4s easily beat PR6s -- because my pages were better optimized. Without optimization, a great PR doesn't mean diddly, IMO. OTOH, if sites are equally optimized, the PR can give you that extra boost.
[please note that markymark posted while I was writing and I wasn't copying his feelings about PR... I swear...]

I bounce between 6 & 7 for my front page, between 5 & 6 for my inner pages.
My best ever was 8. I think it was a fluke as it only lasted a few days and shocked the heck out of me because nothing had changed.

I am proud to say that I've had (and I still have) first places for a few keywords.
They bring me most of my sales, but unfortunatelly they don't bring tens of thousands of visitors, but those keyword bring me just a few thousands of visitors monthly.
I am very much oriented to design instead of the marketing side, but this is going to change as I am realising what sells and what doesn't.
It took me a couple of years to see what works and what doesn't and don't expect anyone to tell you that.

The *best* pagerank I can get is number 1, though the way the keywords are most often phrased, I sit mostly in the number 2 spot.
I have a very specific subject matter though (Homeschooling Georgia) in my title. I offer resources and information for all homeschoolers though, so my goal is to get a higher ranking in time on a general "homeschool" or "homeschooling" search.
That's why I'm here! Oh, and I'm in the process of *completly* redoing my site with CSS, so nobody look at it yet. *grin* I'll be posting in the wonderful "Site Review" forum when I'm done next week. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My site is consistently a 7 and sometimes bounces to 8 on occassion. However, this means nothing if you do not optimise the stie for Google keywords.
I think the higher the PR, the easier it is to optimise and get first page results. But you still need to know how to pick the right keywords, sales copy, etc. to be profitable.

Guys,
PR/Page Rank != position in the SERP's .. he's asking for your PR. You can check that with the Google Toolbar (IE only)
Wow, I'm jealous of your 7's and 8's :P
