I've been an UrbanScooters affiliate for one week, and have finally made my first sale. I am amazed at the popularity of motorized scooters, and the traffic that they are bringing to my site.
I am hoping that my conversion rate of 1 sale in 1400 clicks improves as we approach the Holiday season, but it was nice to get that first sale.

Congrads.
Would you be willing to post here how you are able to get 1400 click throughs in one week.

There's a heck of a lot of interest in this product. AVP probably didn't have to run PPC to get 1,400 clicks in a week. Am I right?

I'm just curious how AVP managed to get 1400 clicks within a week being a new affiliate.
The traffic wouldn't of come from the search engines as the page wouldn't of been index yet. Though a bit possible if a paid submission and good SEO and or from a site currently receiving traffic or ?
If I can learn a thing or two from AVP, this will be great as AVP sounds like they know what they are doing.
Thanks.

So far this month I have about 7500 clicks and 6 sales - 1 sale per 1250 - better than last month.
My secret for receiving traffic is using a site with high PR and link to the scooter pages from the home page. Then I use word tracker to pick the best keywords for getting high placement in Google and other SEs.

Not exactly. The trick with Google is to have the "temp" bot indexing your site. My site usually gets updated ever 2 days or so and any link on the homepage gets added to the directory with a PR of the Homepage PR - 1. So if I add a new affiliate program I see SE results in about 3 days.
Usually the "temp" bot likes home pages that are updated regularly (I update my home pages every day using an automated script I created)

Correct you are Frank, no PPC. As is the case with fcol, the site was already indexed and I lucked out with some decent keyword placement on Google.
I wish I would have recognized the popularity of this product in the spring, and been around for the summer sales.

I need to understand this.
You already have a site which is indexed and has a good PR, say 5 or above which is selling "widgets".
You add a link or a banner for Urban Scooters to your home page an add "scooter" keywords to the meta tag of the widget homepage.
You receive 1400 hits to your scooter site, how many hits are you getting to your "widget" home page?
Am I getting this right? Thanks.

A completely new "Scooter" page with appropriate keywords was linked to the home page. The Google spiders crawl the index page and everything that is linked to it.
keep in mind that this page is dedicated to UrbanScooters and has many links covering a large portion of their product range. This results in multiple clicks per visitor.
My home page actually performs quite poorly. I do much better with my keyword selections on the category pages.

Jim,
As AVP indicated, no changes are needed the meta tags on the home page. The home page is used to get the linked pages indexed quickly into Google.
