Hello ABW community! Osiris Armstead here, head techie and recently freed hostage (thanks for getting that in print Andy http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif ) of Usubscribe.com. I'd like to thank all who have participated in our initial data feed brain storm, I think what we have come up with will be a great tool for our affiliates. How about setting a cookie so that we don't have to remember what options we picked the last time we pulled the feed?
Other than that... it's looking good http://66.132.187.8/smilies/thumbup2.gif

Maybe I'm an idiot and don't see it but can you add the category into the datafeed? I see you have a seperate feed for just the categories but I would like to see the cat. numbers in the main feed. If, for example, I wanted to find all the sports magazines I could just sort by category and take those items from the feed.

The related categories for every subscription can be downloaded in the main datafeed or seperately in it's own file. If you are downloading category information in the main feed the fields of interest are 'relcategories_ids' and 'relcategories_text'. You can opt to download this category information as a list of category ids (numeric representation), as a list of category names (recognizable character string such as 'Fashion' or 'Sports'), or no list with a record in the feed for each category that a subscription falls under. So that data is in there. I hope this helps, if you have any other questions about accessing category information please let me know.
whew ... my first tech question and response at abw. thank you drcool http://66.132.187.8/smilies/banana.gif

Thanks. I was thinking the related categories was categories the mags fit under in addition to the main category. I guess that proves it... I am an idiot http://66.132.187.8/smilies/bonk.gif

gah...Be kinder to yourself drcool http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif It is understandable that you would be looking for a multi-tier category system. Just happens to be that we are currently weighting all categories a subscription falls under equally.

Ok team,
Any feed back on the new datafeed structure? Any suggestions? Comments?

I haven't had a chance to do much with it just yet (lotsa family medical problems), but I've downloaded a copy and like what I see so far http://66.132.187.8/smilies/thumbup2.gif
The only problem I'm having is with the file being a .tab file. My Excel doesn't like .tab files, so I end up changing it to a .txt file so it can be read. No biggie though.
Oh, how's about that cookie?

Hiyas all. So I have added to the links page a means to load the last datafeed settings you used to create a feed. Additionally Ive added a means to generate a url that when called will request and result in a data file with the particular settings as displayed on the links page at the time the url was generated. This could be used to automate the uploading of our catalog for instance. As always, let me know what you think. http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
