Just thought I would touch base with you on the progress of our program. We are almost finished designing the new program and will be accepting new candidates within the next few weeks.
The program is becoming a "Supply Mall" and you will include about 8-10 individual Food Service, Office & Janitorial Supply stores.
If you would like to apply at this time, please do so at Affiliate Program Application (http://www.janitorial-supply-store.com/code.asp)
However, there will be a minimum of 3-5 weeks before we can activate your new mall.
All you will need to do is submit, advertise and link to your exisiting site. If you don't have a site, no problem, just submit and advertise the mall and earn 5% commission on complete sales. There are over 40,000 great selling products in the mall and it is still growing!
We will register the domain, create & maintain the stores and host the stores. Saves you time and money --- isn't that an earning in itself?? http://66.132.187.8/smilies/yelclap.gif
Best Regards,

Hi, T.N.T!
We will accept Affiliates from anywhere. I have adjusted the cart to accept affiliate applications for the Stocked Store from all countries. However, we do not ship outside of the US and commission payments are currently made in US currency. As we develop the Affiliate Program, we hope to be able to offer funds in the Affiliate Members currency.
If you have any further questions, please ask!

Hi, Just a Guy!
No, I am sorry we cannot set up the store on your domain. We must have access to the domain in order to provide updates and maintenance.
You can link the store from your site or you can obtain product category links to add to your site. You can design a page or pages with the category links that will direct the shopper to our site.
If you would like to obtain a store or the product catergory links please join the program (http://www.janitorial-supply-store.com/affiliate.asp)
If you have any other questions, or need any assistance, please don't hesitate.

Hello, William:
We do not currently support E-Gold Payments. However, since many of our new affiliates are outside of the US, we may be supporting E-Gold payments or alternative in the near future.
If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate.

Hello, Sandra:
We no longer offer complete product data feeds. http://66.132.187.8/smilies/deal.gif Our program offers a ready made site with all products coded with your affiliate id which will direct the shopper to our cart to finalize the sale. We can provide you with html code for each individual product or category of products that you can embed in your own pages. We can provide you with the products as a partial feed (images with the product name and affiliate id) that will direct a shopper to our site for the product description, pricing and add to order link.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at affiliates@twin-supply-inc.com.

Hello Marie,
Help me to get this straight please, I am not trying to be contrary but I am a tad confused.
An affiliate places a link on his site to get to your site, which is a customized site for the affiliate? (co-branding?)
If the domain name does not change, and the links are not located through a feed on the domain owner’s site, why offer a customized site?
Wouldn’t a link be enough?
Sorry to be a Pain
Better add I was intersted in your party supplies!

Hi, Sandra:
Sorry if I did not convey the message correctly to you. The co-branded site contains pricing, product names, descriptions, categories, etc. It is basically no work for an affiliate other than promotion of the site. The individual links do not contain pricing or product descriptions and involve additional maintenance for us and the affiliate. We feel that the co-branded site is a more organized method of keeping all affiliate information up-to-date and the information will always be exactly like the site that it refers to.
We are not exactly eager to provide the links, but will oblige propestive affiliates if the do prefer product or category links.
Please let me know if I have provided you with the information necessary to clarify whatever previous statement I made to confuse you.
Regards!

I'm still confused over what you're saying about domains for the free storefronts.
Can I register a domain specifically for this, say ... crazyguy-parties.com and have it as the party store storefront? More precisely, can I set up the DNS so www.crazyguy-parties.com (http://www.crazyguy-parties.com) points to your storefront server while I keep other subdomains (like mail. and links. and so on). Basically, your nameservers or mine?
... and would the category and product links I put on my other sites point to things like www.crazyguy-parties.com/products.asp?cat=3621? (http://www.crazyguy-parties.com/products.asp?cat=3621?)
Thanks for the anticipated clarification http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi, CrazyGuy:
Basically, the storefront is created on a subdomain of party-supply-store.us You can create a link on your domain that points to the subdomain that we create the store on. We can also provide you with Category Links so that you can create pages on your own domain that will direct the shopper to the storefront.
Example
Category is Party Hats
Party Hats (http://crazyguy.party-supply-store.us/products.asp?cat=3620)
The link can be text or can include an image.
I am in a great hurry to get to the airport--so, I will try to get back to you tomorrow with a better explanation.
Thanks,
Marie

That's ok Marie - I understand what you mean now.
I think the ongoing confusion is because there was an assumption by some of us that this was a little more than it is in practice.
Last question(s) - do affiliates have to sign up for each store/program separately, are commissions consolidated across all stores/programs, and are their crosslinks between the various stores?
I know I could find this out from inside, but I'm trying not to sign up for things I won't pursue.

Hello,
We currently have over 40,000 products in our new Affiliate Supply Mall and welcome you to view our program.
Since it is a huge database and we will host, register and maintain it for you -- the setup time will be between 2-4 weeks from the application time.
Please take a look at the program..Affiliate Supply Mall (http://www.janitorial-supply-store.com/code.asp)
If you wish to apply now, please do since the delay will be greater with each new applicant.
We pay 5% commission for all completed sales and there is virtually no work for you other than the promotion and marketing of the supply mall.
Only one application is necessary for all stores in our supply mall and as we add new divisions, we will update your Affiliate Supply Mall accordingly.
Best,
Herb ԿԬ

since you obviously have a well-maintained database, I think a lot of us would be interested in working with dynamic PSC links instead. there _are_ other ways to skin cats.

will do, and thank you. By the way, I was interested in being an affiliate of Twin Supply when they were still in the MS network -- that debacle cost me 110 merchants, many of which never offered affiliateships again.
In a nutshell, some merchants' offerings are available in dynamic or static "Product Showcase Creator" which is basically a snippet of javascript that draws many links to products in their database down to a set spot in a Web page. The dynamic version is self-maintaining, allows product and price and description and picture changes, but requires the driving database be updated as necessary.
There are slight differences in the offerings depending on the merchant, but this is the basic idea.
There are references to this in the Shareasale and Commission Junction/Sportsfanfare.com forums here.
The originator is Akiva [Bergstrom?] of AffSolutions, found in the "other Ad Networks" area, also here.
I know I'm oversimplifying this, but from my standpoint I can take his code and either build a dynamic page from a brand, or a category, and custom tailor it as to how many columns of products, how wide, what color border, if any, add description, large or small graphics, SEO code -- big plus -- and I don't need to build a remote domain up, just make as many pages of this as I want and promote them as best I can.
I also am not set up to work with datafeeds, nor do I want to if I can make pages this way or add these links to relevant existing pages.

Hi, Herb:
Thanks for taking the time to elaborate. However, I am really confused by your statement above. Interested in being an affiliate for Twin Supply when they were still in the MS Network? Cost you 110 merchants? I am really confused? I would really like to talk to you! Can I call you? If so, please send me your phone number and best time to call to techno2@techno-topics.us
As far as the dynamic or statis showcase creator - I would like to talk to you about that as well.

Marie:
Some years ago, Microsoft decided it was going to run an affiliate network and sell some other services also. I believe Twin Supply was a merchant there for a while. Let me see if I can find some old stuff here first so I can be more accurate.

so that there is no misunderstanding about the above: the debacle was that people were still signing up for affiliateships with "Revenue Avenue," part of Microsoft's bCentral offering, but no one was told the program was shutting down. I was working with over 120 merchants in that network by mid-2001, and I think it went down the tubes by September, if not before.
This all has nothing to do with Twin Supply; I have no problem with them.
