It's kinda sad that "the television" only received zero votes...

There's nothing better than thousands of people watching an infomercial for the product you are promoting. A lot of them ignore the 1800 phone number and use their favorite search engine instead. They are hyper-pre-qualified, and if their search finds your link, that TV ad has been your free & powerful marketing partner!

LOL.... www/dell.com/tv infomercial is designed to wipe out affiliate commission cookies with house cookies. Most informercial marketing operators devise commission traps for their own cuts well before they launch one of these shows. The merchants also know this and flash a house account URL on the screen for those adverse to telemarketers.

Those URLs are made for forgetting. Then the people search..."kinda" remembering the product name and finding the site that manages to work every conceivable variation into the page.

Unfortunately, the way Charlie spells, they often end up on some kind of "City" site instead of a nice one like mine...at least until I mangle my own pages so they'll come up for those kooky searches.

The best tools are custom built by offshore programmers who are given a "little piece" of the assignment.
The TOOL is then integrated for use by the participating affiliates who paid in advance to have the tool built. The tool is kept by just a handful and never made public.

These TOOLS would get "very few" votes.

imho

You have certainly got my curiosity up about this "TOOL!"

Exactly.. - Thought I was the only one who had done that.. :)
Except with me - I am the only "participating affiliate"...
I had two custom built scripts written.. the "little pieces"
Then put them together myself.. either one wouldn't really do squat by itself..
but together they are very powerful.. I just have a couple more I need to get written and add to the "TOOL"

Although I do use WebMerge for some stuff too..

But Nothing Like Having Your Own TOOL... :)

I just started paying attention to WordTracker and it looks like it could be very helpfull.

Why wasn't WordTracker mentioned?

BTW, I'm a newbie and thanks to everyone for sharing your insight!
