What are Parasites? Unsolicited Commercial Software. DOXdesk’s name for the annoying breed of software that gets on your computer without you asking for it, there to make money for someone else. We call them ‘parasites’ for short.

What is ParasiteWare™? ParasiteWare™ - is technology (including, but not restricted to, browser helpers, browser plug-ins, toolbars and pop ups/sliders) that knowingly or unknowingly undermines or removes another affiliate's ability to compete by changing, intercepting or redirecting an affiliate link. Parasiteware™ may be installed knowingly or unknowingly by the end user, altering their normal web browser functions and/or installing a third party application that works through the user's altered browser.

How can I detect and protect myself from ParasiteWare™? ParasiteWare™, is specifically designed to go unnoticed. And simply removing the host software that installed the Spyware components on your system will not always remove the problem. Fortunately, there are several software solutions that will detect parasitic activity on your system (like an antivirus tool would) and then help you remove the offending software completely. You are constantly being bombarded by reasonably benign levels of Spyware in the form of Adware downloaded from the Web even in the tiniest applications you download, such as media player skins, download assistants, and/or FTP clients.
