Ok folks, based on your feedback and some things that I planned a while back, I am proud to release the Product Showcase Creator Beta v3.1! Please review the list of new features, test drive and let me know what you think.
New Features:
- More flexibility in colors and fonts - Fields were changed from dropdowns to text input fields. Font size otpion added.
- Description toggle added - you can now choose whether or not you want a description displayed. If you want a description displayed, the system is set to display only the first 150 characters for consistent formatting.
- Multiple page generation! Select the number of products per page and the PSC will create multiple pages for you! Click the page number in the interface to get the HTML code for each page. It's easy!
- ALT tag for product image now includes the product name.
You can test drive Beta version 3.1 here:

Please post if you have any comments/suggestions. Thanks!
As an aside, I'll explain why certain options weren't included.
- Price display toggle. Since this is a static HTML generator, the merchant will make the choice whether or not to display prices. In the dynamic version, you will have the ability to choose.
- Thumbnail / Large image toggle. We can't implement this due to the varying data types we receive from merchants. Some have a thumb/large image, some don't. Since we don't require merchants to conform to data specs, we wouldn't be able to apply this across the board. Therefore it cannot be done at this time.
- Style sheet support. Style sheets can get quite complicated and at affSolutions we follow the KISS rule.
- Meta tag generation. Something we may consider in the future. However we can't make it THAT easy http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Once you folks like it and it's thoroughly tested, we will upgrade all PSC apps.
The Dynamic PSC is coming soon too http://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Either way I will be testing this tonighthttp://abw.infopop.cc/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Jack it's not live on the PCC version. We're using the PCC setup to test in a live environment. IOW the code generated can be used.

Super slick Akiva ...directory of programs with a PSC interface tool
http://psc.afftools.com/directory.html
I highly recommend Merchant AM's mark their datfeed with some canned "hot seller" keywords for each category. Example JCWhitney: Rick just puts the keyword "hot" in the product datafield for any of his main automotive categories. Typing in "hot SUV" displays a nice cross selection of SUV products. The keyword "hot" bypasses the affiliate from memorizing the merchants datafeed or playing with results for hours. Setting up canned keyword displays on the pull down would work wonders with the AM's responsibliity to fine tune those displays monthly by tagging certain products with the "hot" placemarker.
Here's a color chart page for choosing color codes ...Feel free to copy it Akiva and put it on your site. www.ecomcity.com/color.htm (http://www.ecomcity.com/color.htm)

Any suggestions? If not then I will begin the upgrade process for all apps...
Dagnabbit! I go on vacation for one week and you go and spring a beta test on me! heh
It's looking really good Akiva. One thing that I would suggest would be, if you select 3 columns, it inserts a width=33% into the TD code, 4 columns width=25% etc.
I've seen some PSC's that gets distorted by the product name or a missing image that causes one column to be bigger than the others. This should fix that problem.
I do like Mike's idea of selectible colors from a chart also. Possibly implemented with a pop up that inserts the hex code into the form before hitting the create button?

Is anyone else using Chip N' Dough. We are finding it very hard to come up with any results if we type something in the keywords box. Plus there are only 3-4 categories to pick from.
I realize that this might not be Akiva's fault, but thought maybe I could get Shawn's attention:P

Oops, just remembered a request from a while back (of course now I can't find the thread.)
The option NOT to show the images. There are a few merchants who don't have an image for a product or even a no-image graphic. That big X just looks bad.
