Safety Girl Roadside Emergency Kits make a fun and useful gift for any woman who drives a vehicle. Huge audience, nothing else like it on the market, an easy sell.
The kit contains serious roadside essentials like instructions to change a flat tire, emergency blanket, etc., but it also has other "emergency" items like chocolate, nail file, aromatherapy headache remedy and more.

Safety Girl has been featured in numerous fashion magazines and style features -- it's not your typical emergency kit. One look at the Safety Girl logo and you'll see why over 10,000 people fell in love with our product in our first year without advertising of any kind.
Our commissions begin at 15%. We'd be thrilled to have you on board!

Hi Kim, :howdy:
I have reason to believe that your program is going to be a hit.
I went to your site: http://www.safetygirl.com/ (http://www.safetygirl.com/) and I like it, I will join your program soon.
You have a simple but, very clean site, so I can see many http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/dollars.gif sales of the "Safety Girl - emergency kit for women."
BTW, your FAQ page have good answers. http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/wink.gif but, you must fix this page: http://www.safetygirl.com/faq/press/index.html (http://www.safetygirl.com/faq/press/index.html) it don't look good. :smash:

Note: You must post a link in your Sig. http://abestweb.com/smilies/idea.gif to your site, like I did and also post a link to your SaS program so you can make it easier for affiliates to check out your program.

Cool idea and nice site. Do you have any pics of the kit opened and contents displayed, am I missing it somewhere? I see the box, I see the contents, but not the box opened.
Thanks,
Chet

Thanks, Chet!
Unfortunately, we do not have any photos of the kit + contents all in one shot. We don't have plans for a new photo shoot right away, but I will make sure we get one like that in the next round. Great suggestion. Thanks!

We have a photo of the kit, and we also have a photo of the contents -- but Chet was asking about a single photo that shows the kit opened up showing the contents (all in the same photo).

One question; do you have a second tier?
One suggestion; add a link to your affiliate program info and join pages to your site's footer navigation.

I am sorry but as a woman I find the whole concept insulting!
Just what I would want in an emergency, a danged Breath Freshener!
How about a compass, a good knife, a whistle and mirror to signal for help, a small maginfying glass, a good piece of rope, a small saw? Boy, does having an anti-perspirant at hand make me feel safer or what?
And, forget the Bloom Aromatherapy Headache Remedy! Put in aspirin! That could actually save a life!
Tell you what. If someone were having a heart attack and they died because I went to my emergency kit and it had the Bloom Aromatherapy Headache Remedy instead of aspirin, guess, I would sure want my money back!
Oh! I am a woman. My big emergency is that my pits stink! Gee, guess, I am too dumb to go to the rest room and use a bit of soap and water to wash them!
I like the idea of an emergency kit for women (or anyone else) but I sure wish you would re-think the contents and consider what women really need in an emergency. This ain't it.
When I first saw the post, I thought it would go well with my tomboy's toys concept. This I will never advertise. Imagine how I felt when I saw the contents. It is just insulting to women.

I think this is more of a novelty/gift item than it is a serious emergency kit. If it were a true survival kit, it would include a 357 and a box of ammo to battle car jackers and rapists.
I like your idea safetygirl. It is pink and girly looking.
I will market your product as a novelty/gift item.....if I am approved for your program of course.

Hey Ssanf - thanks so much for your feedback. Just a few things...
Safety Girl is my company, I came up with the idea, and I created the kit. I'm not a girly girl by any stretch of the imagination - but I'm very big on getting at least a few emergency basics into women's cars. I live in Canada -- so that means safety matches and a good quality emergency blanket, for starters. Gift stores will never stock traditional emergency kits - so pairing the serious stuff with everyday needs and putting it all in a fun package was a way of getting it into those stores -- which means people will buy the kits as gifts, which means that serious stuff will get in women's cars. You know, the whole "spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down" thing. I'm sorry if the product offends you. I feel pretty good about the fact that we've gotten over 10,000 emergency blankets into the hands of women who just might need them one day.
While developing the kit, I went on a trip with my mother and we got stuck in the mountains during a snow storm. The kit didn't exist then - but during that one day I really needed at least 6 of the items in the kit (yes, even the breath freshener would have made me feel a little less gross during the day). That trip confirmed for me that the kit was a good idea, and judging by the product's success in its first year, it seems some other people agree.
Unfortunately, shipping across the border as well as cost and size issues have forced us to limit what's in the kit. Sorry, no room for a piece of rope and a saw - those are definitely suggestions I've never heard before. Aspirin wasn't possible due to restrictions in Canada, where we're based. We spent over a year figuring out what could realistically go in the kit and unfortunately, had to make some hard choices. We include a clear message in the kits reminding customers that the kit contains the basics, but if they plan extensive trips they should consult their local auto association for a list of the best emergency supplies for their particular area.
But I'm sure none of that matters to you. You saw the kit as an offence to women everywhere and so it's obviously for the best that you won't be joining our affiliate program. I assume you also don't see any humor in the fact that for many women (including me) chocolate is a very serious emergency item indeed. Such is life.
Wishing you all the best in your endeavors.
Kim

Eathan! Sorry, I got sidetracked there. In answer to your question...
We don't have a second tier set up. I'm still very new to this and learning as I go - so I welcome your advice as far as that goes.
Thanks also for the link suggestion!

Whether you would have used it or not, I also find it insultingly stereotypical. :thumbsdow Note the gender of all those positive responses. Except for Ebudae, most of them are clearly men!
It's just the kind of thing men would buy and give, too...
and then wonder why they got belted over the head!
(Edit--read next post down) Well, make that 2 flukey women who actually seem to like the bimbo stereotype... :yellowcon

lol, I live near a fairly large subdivision full of "bimbos" and and trust me, they are for real.
All that being said - I do think it is a cute item.

I have a great idea.... all the women affiliates who are offended by this product can just not promote it... go back to what ever you do when you're not offended.. and leave all the sales to us guys.... we dont mind doing the heavy lifting.... :D

Sorry, no room for a piece of rope and a saw - those are definitely suggestions I've never heard before.Even bimbos might like to have stuff that would actually help them stay alive in an emergency.
Pop for a whistle that you can probably buy for 10 cents or less wholesale. Same for a small mirror and one of those little novelty magnifying glasses, you know, for just in case the bimbos get the matches wet. (No you don't use them to check your skin to see if the chocolate caused you to start breaking out!) There are little saws that look like wires and have loops on the ends to hold them that weigh very little. And, those little kids compasses sold in novelty stores actually work. I think they, too, can be found wholesale for probably around a quarter tops, maybe less.
And, if you don't know all the ways a rope can be used in an emergency, well, you tell me what in the kit will help hold a splint in place, work as a handle if you need to drag stuff, be a helpful climbing aid, help hold the emergency blanket up if you need to use it for a shelter, help make a trap and many more things to numerous to mention. At least, consider a small ball of twine, 16 or 20 feet, would be useful and needn't weigh much nor cost much to include.
Considering what IS in the kit, it is no surprise that you never heard the usefulness of a rope and a saw in an emergency mentioned. It sort of figures.
With the exception of the saw, I believe all I mentioned could be added for under 50 cents a kit.
If you are going to sell this as an emergengy kit, add some real emergency, life saving items! While developing the kit, I went on a trip with my mother and we got stuck in the mountains during a snow storm. Sounds like you didn't have an emergency. Sounds like you had an inconvenience. There is a significant difference! In a real emergency, you don't care if your breath stinks.
On the other hand, don't add real life saving stuff to the kit. Might be better for the bimbos who would buy this and the men who would sale it and breed with them to be out of the gene pool.
