In preparing a new content site for launch, I created a product link to Joann.com, and tested it by:

Clearing cookies, then clicking on the link from my site to Joann, adding the item to cart, and completing the purchase transaction.

Joann.com sent a confirmation email with order number (on July 6). The credit card transaction was submitted on July 7 and posted to my credit card account on July 8. (I do not know if the item has been physically shipped yet; delivery was promised in "5 to 14 days," so it is not overdue.)

Unfortunately, the transaction has not appeared in my CJ reports. I emailed the affiliate manager (H.O. Reed at IdeaForest.com) on July 8, but I have received no reply to date (2 business days).

Joann.com is not listed as a "batch" merchant.

Alas, the response from Joann.com was not helpful (I am also awaiting a response from CJ, whom I notified of the problem earlier today):

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this. I do see the
order you reference, but it doesn't show up anywhere in our CJ logs (so
no other affiliate was credited with the order).

I'm afraid I can't help diagnose the technical side of the issue for you
-- I'd suggest contacting CJ technical help for that -- but I have
credited your account with the value of the order ($29.97).

I hope that the technical reps can help isolate and correct the problem;
in the meantime, please let me know if you are aware of any other orders
that have not been picked up by the system.

Best Regards,
H.O. Reed

Whenever you do a test purchase, view the source code of the "Thank You" or order confirmation page to see if the tracking pixel is present.

If the pixel is there, it's not necessarily fair to say that the merchant did not track, as it is up to CJ to track the sales.

If the pixel is not there, the merchant is to blame.

I'm not surprised...and I think it's the merchant. This one mysteriously went to dudsville on me, while other CJ merchants have kept doing well.

If that pixel is still on their page, they've probably "fixed" it somehow.

I built a dedicated site for Joanns a few months ago and although it is getting traffic and clicks, it has yet to receive a first sale. Perhaps I need to do a test purchase as I have been wondering what has been going on. This is highly unusual for my sites.

I'm generating sales for Joann. Their conversion ratio never has been very good for me.

Ditto what Chocolate Chicken said. As long as they don't batch, you should see the tracking pixel in the HTML source for the confirmation page. I always try to remember to check for it.

For the year they've been converting for me at 1/32. 200+ sales for the year. For the month so far 1/56. So decent conversion rate. But i don't know why they didn't track for you.

I've done sales with them and they showed up. That being said though, the conversion rate sucks, to put it bluntly, and I've no idea what is up with that, since they are promoted on one of my higher PR pages.

For those with sales that are sucking are you posting the 40%, 50%, free shipping coupons? If not they might be coming on over to my site to get them. Put them on yours, keep em off my site :)

I used to post those all the time, but after a while Joann sales started sucking anyway...

Follow-up: Since I conducted my test purchase which did not get tracked, I have received credit for several orders through Joann.com (I had removed all links to Joann except for a product link and a 40% coupon link on a single product review page). I have not conducted any further purchase tests at Joann.com, and do not intend to.
