About Global Fraud Solutions:
A Utah-based company, GFS was founded in 2002 by former law enforcement officers and financial fraud investigators from both the public and private sectors. Combining extensive collective experience, the founders recognized that Identity Theft would only continue to proliferate exponentially if consumers are not provided with effective tools and information to educate themselves and to be proactive in their own protections, while also providing officers and investigators with organized and actionable information.

About CasePlanner Software: (patent-pending)
Designed by former law enforcement officers and experienced fraud investigators, CasePlanner is not a simple "self-help" program. Rather, CasePlanner is a nationally acclaimed robust, multi-purpose, comprehensive risk management and resolution system to educate and assist consumers in proactively reducing their risk, and documenting, reporting, and resolving their case efficiently and effectively. It removes the uncertainty, and enables the user to provide concise, actionable information for investigators. The normal purchase price is $39.95, with free content updates and no renewal fees for as long as the consumer owns the software.

A typical Identity Theft case can cost hundreds to even thousands of dollars to resolve, and those companies offering “assistance programs” charge between $10 and $20 per month to perform tasks that an informed consumer can and should do themselves. CasePlanner software provides expert, guided assistance and is endorsed, offered by, recommended, or used by law enforcement agencies, consumer organizations, trade associations, and other entities across the nation, including such prestigious organizations as:

The Identity Theft Resource Center
The Institute of Consumer Financial Education
The National Notary Association
The Utah State Bar

The software has frequently appeared in Police Chief magazine as well as Fraud International and Law Enforcement Technology News.

It is easy and intuitive to use, with instructions and guidance provided in plain English. No other Identity Theft product or service carries CasePlanner's impressive credentials.

Read what others have to say about CasePlanner:

“Global Fraud Solutions' CasePlanner consumer software is a powerful tool in the fight against Identity Theft. It provides expert, detailed guidance and risk management tools to enable consumers to reduce their risk of being victimized. If you are a victim, CasePlanner provides you with the most comprehensive assistance product available to organize, track, report, and resolve your case... - all without any monthly fees."
- Jay Foley, Co-Executive Director
Identity Theft Resource Center

“The proverbial tangled web of deception is frighteningly manifested in each case of identity theft. The enormity of effort required to undo it is enough for 75 percent of the victims to throw up their hands in disgust and give up, until CasePlanner™. First, there are no monthly fees. Second, it is so comprehensive that users who are victims are assured of a faster, more complete identity and credit recovery. And third, concerned consumers who want to guard against identity theft and prevent it from happening as much as possible will find CasePlanner™ to be an enormous advantage.”

- Paul Richard, RFC, Executive Director
Institute of Consumer Financial Education

“After purchasing three different software programs, I have finally found the help I needed in CasePlanner. Had I bought CasePlanner when I first heard about it, I wouldn’t have wasted over 300 hours of valuable time finding a solution to the problems I am having. With the easy to use forms, I was able to save the necessary information on my own personal computer and print out all the forms and letters I needed to help law enforcement and my creditors help me help myself without hiring high priced lawyers”.
– L.C.

“This can be an extremely time-consuming effort requiring tremendous organizational skills. Many people lack the organizational and follow-up skills needed to get resolution. CasePlanner facilitates this effort by providing the victims with clear direction as to what to do next.”
– J.S.

Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion and request for additional information. For further clarification, the GFS Affiliate Program pays commissions on all sales of all products offered by Global Fraud Solutions through our website. If a GFS Affiliate refers a customer to our site and that customer makes a purchase of any product(s) we offer, the affiliate will be paid the commission on the entire order sub-total (excludes only s & h and applicable taxes). At 25% commission, this can quickly add up. As previously mentioned, we will also be adding additional new and related products over the coming weeks.

Though we do often provide educational information to visitors about other outside products and services, such as insurance or credit monitoring, we do not offer or promote them and so do not pay commissions. Only those items which appear in our product catalog and are offered by GFS are eligible.

The GFS program is NOT a get-rich quick type of program, but the market and need for our products is vast. We offer only quality products with great credibility.

Thank you again and we look forward to partnering with you.

Only objection I have is your program automatically turns ALL network cooies into session only cookies. How do you also handle putting LS -Performics -CJ on the friendly cookie list?

Hello,

I take it that you are referring specifically to Online Armor? (The behavior-based anti-spyware program that we offer).

Users of the program have the ability to "Trust" sites that they select, which then permits those sites to utilize cookies in a manner consistent with the user's web browser privacy settings. I understand your concern that users of the program may elect to purchase the software and utilize the Cookie Cutter feature of the software on a widescale basis, thus potentially removing persistent or tracking cookies. There are many anonymous surfing programs on the market that perform this funtion as well, and many web browsers can be set to block all cookies. Ultimately it is of course the end-user's decision as to how they elect to use it or what they permit, as with any other product. We do also offer several other popular products in addition to Online Armor.

With nearly 10 million new victims of Identity Theft each year, and over 50 million more already exposed to risk due to data breaches just in 2005 YTD alone, Identity Theft and computer security are hot topics that are on a lot of people's minds. That's why we say there are "millions of reasons to join our program."

Just an additional FYI - Our web site is, of course, set up to accomodate the affiliate tracking cookies used by Share-A-Sale. GFS does not currently utilize CJ or LS at the moment.

I hope that this adequately addressed your question. If not, please let me know.

Thank you and I hope you'll join our program!

I just don't understand a company who has an affiliate program but sells a product that whacks affiliate cookies.

And this has what to do with affiliate tracking cookies?

Hello,

First, understand that Online Armor is only one of the products we offer. If you refer a customer to our site and they buy it or any other product, our affiliates are paid their commissions.

Second, and most directly to your concern, if they buy this particular product, users can elect to "Trust" your site and therefore allow it to leave cookies. There are many privacy products out there that are all or nothing, with more added nearly every week. If they are going to buy one anyway, I believe it is reasonable to say that it would be better for you to have them buy a product that will permit them to trust your site than to buy one that blocks everything with no middle ground (and you get paid for sales of ours). It is understandable that affiliates would be concerned about how these types of products might affect them. GFS is certainly not the only company offering these types of products and all of the "big names" that do also have affiliate programs. In fact, as an industry expert, I can tell you that use of these anonymous surfing and privacy products is becoming so commonplace that all affiliates of any company who are concerned about this should consider including a statement on their site about the use of anonymous surfing and privacy products and consider requesting that their customers classify their site as "trusted" IF their product permits this.

I'm not certain what else to add that might help clarify this point. Obviously, if anyone is overly concerned about this issue in regards to this one particular product, our program may not be a good fit for you. But regardless, the advice above is something that every affiliate of any company should consider.

I hope that this information is helpful.

It isn't the cookie my MY site that I am concerned about. It is the tracking cookie through the affiliate network that concerns me. Any industry expert should know that.

What is the default setting of your software regarding cookies?

Fraudbuster

I'm glad that this topic came up regarding one feature of one of the products that we offer. For "UncleScooter", yes I am aware, and thank you for pointing out that I didn't explain this well enough. Hopefully this will finally clear this up for everyone. For anyone that it does not, please ask or visit our site. Get the Online Armor 15 day free trial and see it for yourself.

And yes - before this item comes up - I am very much aware that not all cookies ** particularly affiliate cookies **are evil.

The Online Armor default setting for cookies is to block persistent and tracking cookies unless the user selects to Trust the site. In this case, however, they are "cookied" on the re-direct to the ShareASale server and not by your site.
So therefore, the only way for a customer who has purchased and installed Online Armor to use this to continue to store persistent affiliate network cookies is for programmatic exceptions to be made for the affiliate network server.

If this were to be done, we would have to tell the users of this program "We protect and safeguard your privacy at all times, and this product does what we say it does, unless we're making an extra buck." We simply will not do this. The products we offer do what we say they do, and the affiliate program is not for everyone. Again - one feature of one product.

You may recall many a recent media story about a very large and well-known software manufacturer and their new anti-spyware application making apparent exceptions for known spyware/adware used by a company that it purchased. We do not play those types of games. As I mentioned in a prior reply, there are big name companies who offer similar products with similar features that have very large and successful affiliate programs. Exceptions being made? No comment. Not something I would want to install on my computer.

Now, let's ASSUME for a moment that a customer clicks through from an affiliate site - sees the wealth of information, resources, and quality products, and buys a product (or products) while visiting our site - the affiliate gets paid a very generous 25% commission of the order subtotal. first, unless that customer buys Online Armor, none of this is even any issue. If the customer does buy Online Armor and installs it, now this one feature of one of our products is an issue because the customer must click through from the affiliate's site and make a purchase at whatever site they are visiting during that session. It's converted to a session cookie so after-session tracking would be affected (i.e. customer happens to go back to a site later down the road - not clicking through from the affiliate's site - and makes a purchase). Can it have a similar impact on other affiliate programs you might be participating in? Yes - it will.

As I stated, our program is not for everyone, and we screen all affiliates and their sites. For those who choose to join and are approved, we provide excellent products with impressive credentials, great support, prompt service, and we operate with the utmost integrity. If you aren't interested, that is perfectly fine. If you ever have problems and need our products - we'll be there.

Thank you again (and our apologies to the moderators for this extended thread).

If your going to a solution that makes all cookies session only ...then go all the way and whack all known and future viruses -Spyware -Adware while your at it. Develop around the www.greenborder.com concept ... I know Microsoft is in their Vista/OneCare product.

GreenBorder Stops ZOTOB from Worming In

As Red Herring reports, ZOTOB “signals the rise of the 'business worm,' or a new type of malicious software that targets enterprises rather than home users.” These new worms aren't just “digital graffiti,” they're “crimeware” — the start of a new wave of threats that steal your confidential data and take control of your systems.

What's more frightening is that these threats are being specifically designed to evade detection systems. Existing signature- and behavior-based defenses struggle to catch up, only to be foiled by new targeted and polymorphic attacks. GreenBorder breaks this cycle, ensuring that all Internet content can be used safely without ever having to wait for updates.

Uncle Scooter, Yep.

This was a design choice, and one that would stop me from touching it. Other products judge the cookies, so they can exclude some. And your continual scare tactics of identity theft as an excuse remind me way too much of aluria.

Hello,

I'm not aware of any scare tactics being used, and we do offer a product that specifically addresses Identity Theft - CasePlanner - an extremely well-credentialed product. Online Armor's focus is on anti-spyware / anti-malware.

The issue about the Online Armor's cookies functionality completely overshadowed the primary purpose of Online Armor - which IS stopping all known, unknown, new, and emerging threats.

I'm sorry, but the Greenborder style hype (also used by a couple of others) always gives me a chuckle particularly when other companies attempt to claim that "behavior-based protection struggles to catch up". I'm just going to leave that one alone.

We posted this announcement so that others could have an opportunity to learn about the affiliate program and the products we offer. It doesn't appear that many have actually taken the time to visit our site to look and learn. I am glad to have had the opportunity to politely answer questions that came up, including those from a number of individuals with no intention of joining, and have abided by the rules and policies of the forum. Signing up for the affiliate program, or not, is a matter of free will. There are plenty of other opportunities and products out there.

I will check back on this thread on occasion, but for now must focus on supporting the affiliates who have joined.

Best wishes and much success to you all!

Hello,

FYI - To advise every potential new affiliate that there is a feature on one of the products that we offer that can have an impact on cookies, we will be posting an affiliate notice on our program description at Share-A-Sale.

We operate with the highest integrity and this important information is being included so that every interested party can make an informed decision. We understand and greatly appreciate the importance of this issue and those who have posted their concerns about it.

Thank you again, and best wishes for success!
