Okay. Let me start promoting our program by drawing everyone's attention to a product in our inventory that it all too often overlooked by affiliates that sell "computer stuff".
How many of you heard about computer mice handpainted by Russian artists?! I mean, painted like those Russian lacquer boxes with gorgeous miniature paintings... We sell those! When you go to the Painted Computer Mice section of the FOLK ART division of our store you will find dozens of mice with Lenin, Putin, Gagarin (first man in space), various flowers and animals, Russian landscapes, etc... :tsktsk:
Tell me why affiliates selling computer-related products aren't featuring these at their stores yet?! They are handpainted and coated with a special lacquer (several layers) which makes them durable and fully usable. I, personally, believe, they would make great and unique gifts...
Come and sell 'em!

Can we get a direct link to that section of your site?
Most of the pics don't show optical ones, but they can be (on customer's wish).

Okay...

Wow, nice but expensive!
I could see it under light office-type or light home use, where the desks are pristine, looks are everything, and the person is actually doing something else most of the day.
Classy painted mice would be good for light use, but most people with computer-related sites are going to automatically think of how long it'd perform under harsh conditions like their own! That stereotype of the webmaster typing with fast food, soda, and cigarettes being consumed while at the computer is accurate in many cases. Not an environment to put a piece of art into.
Plus, mice wear out under heavy use. I figure mine gets over 100,000 clicks/week or more from playing games. They only can put up with that for a year or two before something (usually the buttons) is simply going to give up! That part's just mechanical reality, nothing to do with the looks of the mouse. Click a button a few million times over the course of a couple years, and one day it's just not going to click anymore.
It would probably be good to remind the computer-related site people that not everyone lives at their computer like we do :)

My members are giving me mixed reactions on them. Some like some don't some wonder how they will put up to regular use. I told them that they probably aren't meant to be used.

Hey, when they wear out, hang them on the wall, or sell them on eBay. :thumbup2:

First of all, thanks for joining! Glad to see you on our team of affiliates!
Secondly, addressing what you said above, I should refer back to the Leader's words. Yes, they are more for "light office-type or light home use". They are coated with several layers of lacquer, protecting them from wearing out, but they are definitely not for gamers... :)
They will make excellent gifts. Excellent in their uniqueness and ethnical authenticity (as they are painted by artists who are professional painters in the styles of Khokhloma, Gzhel, Zhostovo, miniature, etc)!
Good luck selling these works of art!

Exactly, Rexane (and everyone)!
...Wow, nice but expensive!
Leader, the fact that they are expensive is not a disadvantage. (1) Tell me where (I know that nowhere) did you see handpainted (yes hand-painted!) items of such small size (image how hard it is to do it on such an uneven and small surface) for less than this? (2) When a sale occurs, expensive translates into profitable for any affiliate, and isn't this what affiliates are looking for? Unique products fit for large numbers of people at prices generating great commissions? Correct me if I'm wrong in any of these statements...

Are those optical mice?
I apologize for the incorrect information given previously. All of these mice - except the two least expensive - are indeed optical. They are painted on the following kinds of mice:
Mitsumi:
PS/2 6702
PS/2 6703 (mini)
USB 6703 (mini)
Logitech:
PS/2 69/90/96 series
USB 69/96 series
PS/2+USB 69/58 series
Cherry:
PS/2 5000
Let me know if anyone has any other questions on them!
Thanks,
Geno

I don't see any banners with the mice, are there any future plans for them?

I noticed the price issue too. I have them up on my site and someone happened to comment on it. I think what needs to be done is to emphasize that these are more a collectible type item than a computer accessory

1) What do you believe would be a fair price for an item like this?
2) Where do you think it would be appropriate to mention about the "collectible type item"? In the description?
Thanks,
Geno

Sounds good to me, Jack. And in the description - mention that they are fully usable, optical, etc?
Would love to hear your (and other people's) thoughts.
Thanks,

How about ... Painted Collectible Computer Mice
Just double-checked and it is too long for our left-side menu, Jack. Can do either "Collectible Computer Mice" (mentioning in the description that they are HAND-painted) or "Unique Russian Comp Mice" (don't really like the shortening here).
