I've finally gone ahead and gotten some paperwhites. These are in the form of kits, with everything a person needs to grow them except for the water.
Each kit has 1 pot, a bag of potting soil, and 4 paperwhite bulbs. All the person has to do is pot them up, and keep them watered for a few weeks, and they'll get blooming paperwhites.
They're $24.98 each.
