Hello. After your products are out of stock (which usually doesn't take very long)it just says "temporarily out of stock. Is it possible that you can redirect potential buyers to "Similar" products? For example, if a Yankees hat is out of stock, can't you redirect them to other Yankee hats, or atleast other Yankee products? I'm amazed at how quickly your products go out of stock, and its very time consuming to be constantly changing them. I also question whether your redirect links even track. A few months ago I raised this question and I was indeed correct. There was tracking issues that CJ and GSI had to work out. Now it seems there is a problem again.

Cub.....An extremely small percentage of our products go out of stock as quickly as you make it out to sound. Sporting Goods will rarely go out of stock. I assume that you are referring to licensed apparel. Our merchandisers due their best to keep up with demand on a product. It is hard to predict who will be the hot player from week to week. So the more specialized licensed gear will go out of stock from time to time.

As far as the redirect tracking. That was an issue 6 months ago. A permanent fix was put in place that would prevent this issue from reoccurring. If there is a specific case that you want me to look into don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank You,

How small a percentage are we talking about?

DFL.........I don’t know a specific percentage. With the huge amount of products that our sporting goods sites carry it is inevitable that some products are going to go out of stock. However, our merchandisers do a very good job keeping up with supply and demand.

As I mentioned before this issue affects very specific products that have less demand rather than the products that you would expect to always be in stock

If there are any specific products or categories that you have any questions about feel free to contact me.

Thank You,

Mike

How often are the GSI datafeeds updated at CJ? This might be part of the problem(if they are not updated on a regular)
