Affiliate Program Changes

1. Change of Affiliate Service Provider
2. Cookie Duration Added!!
3. Commission Scale Changes
4. Dropping "Parasitic Affiliates"
5. Payment Terms Changes

1. GSI Commerce affiliate programs have been moved from CJ to Befree. Concurrent programs will run for 6 weeks. If you are currently a CJ affiliate it will be necessary to swap links during this time period. Please feel free to contact us or check posts on abestweb if you have any questions.

2. A cookie duration has now been added!! Previously, GSI programs did not have a cookie to note. A cookie will be implemented for all programs and the duration will vary. See links below for specifics for each program…

3. Commission rates have changed to pay back to the first dollar. Therefore, after reaching a threshold you will receive the higher commission back to the first sale for that month. Previously, commission rates were paid to affiliates within each tier; now, reaching new levels means increased % back to the sale of dollar 1.

4. Affiliates labeled as "Parasites" have been removed!! Sites that are not in compliance will be monitored at all times and not be allowed to join our programs within BeFree.

5. Previously, DicksSportingGoods.com and FogDog.com paid affiliates through BeFree, quarterly. Going forward, all affiliates for all GSI programs will be paid on a monthly basis rather than quarterly.

For specific information regarding each program feel free to click on the links below. The program terms can be found in the FAQ sections. We also welcome you use these links to join any affiliate program.

You have certainly proven that you are very determined to provide a superior affiliate program for each of the merchants listed above.

I will certainly look into creating content for some or even all of your programs

The only other thing that you could have done would be to offer consolidated payments for all of your programs, that would be brilliant.
Befree are working towards that goal though for the future aren't they?

Mike,

This is wonderful news and a true sign that things are going to be great with GSI affilates. Thanks to the entire team there and with strong results, there will be more to come.

What about the datafeeds?

Allen

Mike,

Welcome, you've been doing impressive things.

As I've done for other BF merchants here, I'll keep an eye out and help out here as needed (though you're doing quite well on your own).

I just saw this, good move. In another thread, you stated that all of the companies were not associated with ebates.

I for one will only sign up to the ones where ebates MMM is not a partner. If you will, please list the sites that do not have associations with Ebates MMM and I'll gladly sign up and provide them some marketing.

Thanks!

1. Change of Affiliate Service Provider - I for one am not happy about this. I'm affiliated with 7 of the sites. Only 1 produces for me on a regular basis. Without consolidated payments which BeFree doesn't provide, I won't be signing back up on the other 6 in hopes of earning enough sometime in the future to get a check.

2. Cookie Duration Added!! - Excellent

3. Commission Scale Changes - Excellent

4. Dropping "Parasitic Affiliates" - Most excellent

5. Payment Terms Changes - Excellent

I take back all the evil things I have been thinking about GSI - truthfully, I never thought a major marketer would do this. Kudos!

Sounds good Mike - I would like to see some more affiliate only coupons in general? Particularly for SportsAuthority. Any possiblity of this?

Thank you for all your kind words. I am excited for the future of our affiliate programs as I hope you are too.

I will address some of your points/questions that you brought up shortly.

If you have any questions that you don't feel comfortable posting in this forum feel free to email me at affiliates@gsicommerce.com or PM me.

Survey......We going to continue offering affiliate coupons for our affiliates to promote. Currently we have 4 coupons out there (check other forums for specifics). Coupon updates will come at the end or beginning of each month

Linda......I am sorry that you feel inconvenienced. However, your post clearly shows that all in all the changes are very positive. Let’s talk privately to see what we can work out.

Any more questions or comments?

This is all good stuff, Mike. 30 day cookie for FogDog is excellent. But I've noticed that the FogDog terms now say that 'websites outside of the USA cannot join' whereas previously it said that international affiliates were accepted into the program.

I'm already an affiliate and am in the UK. What does this mean for me and others like me ?

Our terms state:
"Only Web sites with general or United States based domain name extensions (e.g. .com, .net, .org, .us, etc.) are eligible for participation in this Affiliate Program."

So If you are based ouside of the United States you can join our affiliate programs as long as the website(s) that you are promoting has a US or Nuetral extension (e.g. .com, .net, .org, .us, etc.).

Does that answer your question?

Mike,
Mark might be talking about question 7 in the FAQ section where it says:

quote:
7. Can a web site based outside the United States become an affiliate?
No. FogDog.com only ships to the U.S. at this time, and affiliates based outside the US cannot be properly compensated.

I didn’t think much of it myself because last time I checked we lost the war, so I’m still in the US.

Yup, that's the bit I'm talking about. Thanks, NewcastleB. This wasn't there when I signed up and it wasn't there as recently as two weeks ago. Can you clarify this, Mike.

Time to redue all my sports sections that have languished for years with zero cookie day merchants. Nice move Mike as you control this verticle niche' marketplace.

Thank you Mike and Charlie!!

NewcastleB and Mark....

Thank you for catching that error in the FAQ's. The Published Terms are correct and in fact the FAQ's are misleading. Websites outside the United States can in fact be affiliates as long as their website extensions are US or Neutral based. Affiliates will be compensated in accordance to Befrees rules.

Please go by the terms that are posted which state:

"Only Web sites with general or United States based domain name extensions (e.g. .com, .net, .org, .us, etc.) are eligible for participation in this Affiliate Program."

So If you are based outside of the United States you can join our affiliate programs as long as the website(s) that you are promoting has a US or Nuetral extension (e.g. .com, .net, .org, .us, etc.).

Does that clear things up?
