AddHandler for giving us Affiliate Stats Calculator (http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=64861) and for taking the lead to come up with an affiliate friendly data feed (http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=64131) format.

Andy Rodriguez for his first Affiliate Manager certification and training seminar down in Miami - I saw more good done there in a few days than I thought was possible!

Brian Littleton of SAS presented on ethics. Kellie showed some magic movies and merchants gasped at what they saw! Many merchants and AMs were affected / altered / educated by this event.

I'll nominate Haiko and Abestweb for showing continued constancy of purpose

Oh, shucks, go ahead and blow your own horn on this one Haiko, you deserve it. Without ABW I'd still be creating my web sites with crayons and silly putty. I'd be so far down on the learning curve of affiliate marketing it would be a peak I could not fathom ever reaching. Thanks for your time, your forum and your energy.

Haiko's almost a given with ABestWeb, but if we're talking about new stuff in 2005, Andy's classes are the kind of thing that could really take this industry to the next level! The more good education AMs, merchants, and OPMs can get, the better.

True, but ABW is free and Andy's courses are a bit much for the average affiliate wanting to expand. Don't get me wrong, he provides a valuable service and I'd love to attend some day if nothing but for the experience of meeting Andy and networking with others.

Gotta give it up to Haiko as well. I didn't think ABW would be in the running since these are the ABW Best of awards.

SAS for proving that this industry can be run successfully with both integrity and reliability.

All those mentioned are admirable...

A fresh face for a nominee: Ron (7-days) for the countless posts and initiatives he's taken upon himself to help others and make this industry better. Ron is not only a top-notch affiliate marketer but he's a great guy and he just plain deserves an award!

(Personally, I enjoy reading Ron's posts as they are either informative, alertive and sometimes amusing.)

Wow. Thanks! Not sure I deserve that kind of praise or a nomination, but thanks for the kind words and for thinking of me.

I agree totally with Billy Kay. I'll nominate Haiko and Abestweb, if it was not for Haiko and Abestweb we would not have heard of most of the other nominations.

Haiko you really must claim this one for yourself.

I think we ALL know and agree that ABW has provided the best service to the industry from the very first day it went live. But, I think, since this is an award given by ABW, that ABW should not be in the nominations. Why give an award to yourself?

Besides, ABW winning every year, as it ought to, takes away any chance of acknowledging others who have made monumental contributions to the industry. And, I think, that is what the whole purpose of the ABW awards is, to acknowledge the outstanding contributions some have made to our industry and to ABW, itself.

Haiko does not need our votes to tell him how much he and what he has done is valued and appreciated. We tell him that every time we log in and read or post something here.

With 54,680 threads and 471,178 posts, 22,658 Members have already given ABW their votes!

I want to nominate that Senator, what's-his-name.

Maybe, that would encourage and others like him if he knew that 22,658 ABW members appreciate what he is doing and would be good publicity for our cause.

Let's not waste this opportunity on self congratulations. We can do that any time.

SSanf I think you're referring to NY State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer...

Leader

Ecch! Hopefully she really means a senator!
Although I don't really think any politicans have done any great "service for the industry," regardless of a few stray "goods" that may occasionally leak in our direction.

I am being vague here so as not to embarrass my self more than needed. But, you DO get the gist of it. I think there are people outside the industry, itself, lawyers, politicians and many others who are contributing substantially to our industry. Yes, let's look at home but let's also look at the larger picture to find nominees for this award. This is a golden opportunity to call attention to our profession and tell the public what we really do.

What about the originators of the CANSPAM act? How about the ones who are going after and cracking down on the people doing drive-by installs? Sure, it all still needs a lot of work, but it is a start. If we acknowledge them, maybe, they will make it better, yet.

To start, I nominate that Eliot Spitzer guy. At least, he did SOMETHING!

(Hell, I can't follow the Leader all the time!)

Anyone want to nominate Google Guy???? :escape:LOL!!!

Gordon
