If you were in attendance on our conference call (recorded audio coming shortly) you heard Melissa discuss the origin of the name "Crazy For Bargains." Back in the day, she wanted to sell a plethora of everything. To be the next big "O." Then she realized that going niche was where she wanted to be...so her focus primed on pajamas.

Great business, but "Crazy for Bargains" doesn't really convey anything about pajamas, boxers, robes, or slippers! Thus, the tagline "Fun Sleepwear for the Whole Family" evolved.

Melissa discovered that when the tagline was used, she saw increased targeted clickthroughs and higher conversions. And lived happily ever after.

Moral of the Story:
When mentioning Crazy for Bargains, be sure to mention "Fun Sleepwear for the Whole Family" so every one will know exactly what kind of crazy bargains you're referring to.

This is a great tip Carolyn and really speaks of one of the Ecomxpo presentations in that they talked a lot about scent.

Agreed...I learn a lot from Melissa (the owner of CFB). Like Fred (from Village Hat Shop), she's one of those people that has an innate sense of retailing and marketing. As soon as we get the audio from the conference call uploaded, I'll post it here. She's got good pointers there as well! :)
