Discovery Communications, Inc., the leading global real-world media and entertainment company with an exciting array of TV networks such as Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and TLC, is seeking a Paid Search Coordinator to join the Commerce division in our headquarters in Silver Spring, MD (Washington, DC metro area).
Position Summary:
In this exciting position you will be part of the E-Commerce team, assisting in the management of paid search campaigns & external partnerships. Profitably generating revenue and brand awareness through DiscoveryChannelStore.com's online marketing partners. Specific partner relationships include: Google, Yahoo, MSN, Amazon, QVC & Ebay. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated individual with an interest to learn and grow in the position.
Responsibilities:
1) Manage day-to-day paid search marketing activities with external agency
2) Optimize internal paid search branded campaign
3) Aggressively grow paid search campaign term base 2X, increasing revenue by 45% vs. 2006
4) Test search ad copy, ranking & landing pages to increase conversions
5) Implement marketing & promotional strategies for online partnerships
6) Maintain external partners promotional calendar
7) Prepare weekly / monthly search and partner campaign analysis
8) Identify areas to increase exposure/promotional opportunities with external partners
9) Communicate product & price changes to external partners
10) Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* This position requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing or business
* 2-3 years online marketing experience, 1-2 years paid SEM preferred
* A strong knowledge of E-commerce and experience working with online partners is required
* Working knowledge of search engine tools: Yahoo Search, Google Ad Words, & MSN Ad Center tools
* Candidates must be creative, have excellent communication skills, be able to multi-task and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
