Cooler call numbers LOL loxly June 14th, 2006, 03:22 PM Thanks Rexanne, I've already been asked if I photoshopped the numbers in and the answer is NO!!! LOL, that scene is exactly as is in the Mojave. I pulled off the highway and went down a side road to catch some shots of the desert and this was just out there... nakedgamer June 14th, 2006, 03:34 PM Nice shot loxly, and I agree don't know why but it seems interesting. :) Funny I might even have a site coming up that might fit in well with as a photo header... MoneyBusiness June 14th, 2006, 03:45 PM Nice pic.. ;) what's it like driving through the Mojave? peaceful? That's one thing I've always wanted to do. I suppose on one of my first visits west, I'll have to give that a shot.. loxly June 14th, 2006, 05:47 PM Yes, it is peaceful and extremely quiet. Peace is something needed at the moment... SusanLewis June 15th, 2006, 08:05 AM Cool shot loxly! It's a fascinating pic. refinish69 June 19th, 2006, 07:24 PM You are a wizzard with a camera. loxly June 19th, 2006, 08:29 PM Thanks! That's pretty tame coming from you Steve, lol, I was afraid when I saw you posted!!!!! :D Billy Kay June 19th, 2006, 10:01 PM Only exaggerating a little... meaning we have a road and my house has windows :) but that's what it looked like when I moved here 6 years ago now, I can throw a rock at Target, mervyns, Sears and JC Penney from my front window and the last remaining dirt lot out my side window is going to be a Ramada Inn and a gym loxly June 19th, 2006, 11:08 PM A Ramada Inn? Well, it could have been a Red Roof.... Do Ramada Inn's have slot machines in Vegas? Rexanne June 19th, 2006, 11:29 PM A Ramada Inn? Well, it could have been a Red Roof.... Do Ramada Inn's have slot machines in Vegas? TOILETS have slot machines in Vegas so I'm sure the Ramada Inn will have them. It's part of the local income, so all establishments get slots like other places get vending machines. That's what's so cool about Vegas :D Ryan@MB June 20th, 2006, 10:52 AM Cool picture... you should enter it in a contest. loxly June 20th, 2006, 01:45 PM Cool picture... you should enter it in a contest. Thanks Ryan, I gave up contests years ago, I am not good with deadlines :) e-Gazer July 3rd, 2006, 05:44 PM Yes, it is peaceful and extremely quiet. Peace is something needed at the moment... Peace is ALWAYS needed. :) Glad you're taking the time to get some. Peace, that is... Great pic (as usual)! Cheers, Chaunte October 2nd, 2006, 10:26 PM that's a good pic. loxly October 3rd, 2006, 01:16 AM Thank you Chaunte... I actually forgot I posted that one here..... and Liz.... get some... and those call letters.... interesting.... lololol When I took that I didn't know I would be living here and peace is what I have found.... I think I may drive back to the Mojave this weekend, it's only an hour south.... I knew I needed to live here even back in June. I know, that seems not long ago... but it is like a lifetime ago. Alan Hamilton October 3rd, 2006, 06:28 AM Interesting shot Deb - did you take in a sunset that evening? :Todd: Kevin October 3rd, 2006, 08:06 AM What kind of music do they play??? :) Herb ԿԬ October 3rd, 2006, 10:11 AM What kind of music do they play??? :) I'll bet it is verry dry loxly October 3rd, 2006, 11:08 AM Alan... yes I have sunset pics in the Sierra mountains that evening. I was driving back to San Mateo that day. Noth... maybe we don't want to know.... Herb... LOLOLOL... FourthWorld October 3rd, 2006, 11:25 AM Great picture, Loxly! Where is that? I get out to the desert whenever I can, hiking, camping, and backpacking at least a few times a year. I'm planning my first trip to Joshua Tree sometime in the next few weeks now that it's cool but not too cold (I spent winter solstice at Red Rock Canyon outside of Mojave once; it was a good time but mighty chilly over the long night). One of my favorite snippets from Lawrence of Arabia: Bentley: What is it Major Lawrence, that attracts you personally to the desert? Lawrence: It's clean. loxly October 3rd, 2006, 11:28 AM Richard, I don't know if I can find it again, I think I know about where it is. Not far off of 15 just south of Las Vegas. I pulled off 15 and took side roads (mostly dirt or not well paved) a few miles to see what might be around... I need to go to Joshua Tree, that isn't far at all.... maybe THAT's what I'll do Saturday... :) Thanks for reminding me!!!! 7-days October 3rd, 2006, 02:13 PM I saw a red billboard last week advertising a local hospital. Someone was not thinking when they put it there in front of the Jiffy Lube, as at one point along the drive when their red sign lines up with the Jiffy Lube one, it looks like just one sign. Says something about "We are here for all your health care needs... then... speedy lubes our speciality" Something like that. I've got to get a picture! Delko October 4th, 2006, 08:44 AM Coz of you loxly that place know many people now!
