Tomorrow's the deadline for postmarked quarterly estimated tax payment.
Wrote out my check today to stick in today's outbound office mail.
Ouch.
Anyone else feeling the same today / tomorrow?

Thanks for the reminder! This is the oddball payment, due just two months after the April 15th payment. I forgot it one year, thinking it wasn't due until July 15th.

I use EFTPS and pay my income and payroll taxes monthly, so I take my lumps monthly instead of quarterly. My accountant files the quarterly report and all I do is go by and sign it before she mails it.

Just felt the pain myself and already took my payment to the Post Office for a certified mail delivery.

Thanks for the reminder. I was late last year on 6/15 for the same reason Michael mentioned. Bleccch.

Sent mine out yesterday. First year doing this with paying quarterly, I missed it because I understood what quarterly meant :) But I learned what quarterly meant to the tax man.

I just wrote ours this morning. Definitely ouch. Usually it's the health insurance at the same time too but just changed plans so it will come next month. :( I pay all the bills for my Dad too, but like his better. Not quite as painful when it's somebody else's money. lol He only has the local taxes to pay and gets a senior rebate.

This was the first year for me too, making quarterly payments. Just like the others here, I thought quarterly meant July 15. I was late and sent mine on June 16. I hope there's not a penalty. And yes, it hurt. The tax man took everything I had in my account. I wasn't ready for a payment since I thought I had until July 15. It's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the next month.
But, I'll try to look on the bright side. Affiliate marketing has done wonders for my happiness and state of mind. It offers complete freedom, and freedom is priceless. I was a design engineer before I got into affiliate marketing. I lost my job last year because my company decided to move its operations overseas to save on labor costs. I was very fortunate to discover affiliate marketing. I now work on my own terms, and I don't have to worry about getting the axe. It does get a little tight sometimes (especially when the taxman comes calling) but it's well worth it.

Just bumping this one again, to remind everyone that the oddball quarterly tax payment is due tomorrow, JUNE 15. I always hate this one, as it's only two months after the April 15 payment. (They make up for it with the four month gap between the October and January payments.)

I feel your pain brother...Like Scooter, we pay ours monthly. I haven't looked at a check for years, let Ellen handle it. That way I keep my BP at 120 / 74. I see it on the monthly reports, shed a couple tears, and then feel patriotic. :Todd:

Happy to hear you're writing big checks dude. I kind of look at it like a good ppc campaign. I don't mind writing big checks if the ROI is there!!

We still have to pay taxes?
Nah Anne, everyone except you. I found that exemption in an obscure piece of the code just now. It said something like: "An" (which I assume was just an IRS misspell of your name) "you don't have to pay taxes quarterly."
There was a bunch of stuff after that about alternative options, but I didn't bother looking at that cuz it said An doesn't have to pay quarterly. I love this tax advice stuff!

Only those of you making enough of a profit to not be covered by your 9-5 income tax, which doesn't include me! This is a good problem to have :smiling:

Heh. That's partially true. But sometimes your earnings can exceed your current cash flow or cash position and oops. But still a nice problem to have.

I agree, this would be a nice problem to have! Silly me was like Anne, I hadn't realized taxes were paid on this stuff. So good thread, if I ever need to pay them, LOL.

Why don't you do what I do?
Waite for the knock on your door,
sign the certified mail,
open carefully and read those immortal words
"Notice of Intent to Levy"...
then make a frantic call :)
Works for me :)

Good idea. I dropped mine at the post office as I was leaving town this morning - heading for our beach place. :surfing: I need to work on my Ocean City sites for the upcoming vacation season. Yeah, right... :D
