There is one undeniable aspect of ABW and that is the willingness of its members to help others. How many other places will you find people unselfishly help their competitors be more successful?

One can't help, after being on the receiving end of such help, but want to, in turn, help others. It's an attitude that is contagious and runs rampant here at ABW. Those who lurk here, soak up the information and advice but never post are missing out on so much.

This is the kind of attitude that sets affiliate marketing apart from any other industry I've worked in. When someone takes the time to help you, here or elsewhere, do take a minute and thank them. It truly does mean a lot!

I received 2 "thank you"s today and they just make my day. Here's one I got in an email this morning.

Overall, I just want to say .....in a world where no one seems to have time for anyone, thank goodness for people like you who take the time to help out even a total stranger in need of advice...it is sincerely appreciated. You are a star!!!!

I love this biz! :applause:

Yeah, it's like family without all the emotional strings.

Several times a month I find myself helping someone with a php problem, site critique or other issue in various chats. I just remember there was someone who took a lot of time helping me and how much it gave me a boost in this business. I don't ever just give them everything on a golden platter, but make them work with me towards the solution. It is most rewarding to see them succeed and the occasionaly thank you is always appreciated.

My story is very similar. I learned so much here I can't begin to tell it all. As we help each other, this biz gets a lift.

I totally agree with "In order to be successful, you need to help others be successful" and thanks for the kind words.

In the case of the email, it wasn't even an affiliate. It was someone looking for help and got my email from the merchant's site. So we traded a few emails about resumes, presentation, references, making a good first impression and selling yourself. I probably won't hear from them again but it was nice to know they got "something" from me that hopefully will help them succeed.

The point is that it's the ABW attitude that's contagious-helping people you don't know, probably never met or will ever meet. I'm sure there are many here who take this attitude with them outside of ABW. A simple invite from you, Andy, brought me here a few years ago and now I have the ABW "bug" :D

Was on IM with a new partner today discussing one my programs he just joined as he had some questions about it. We went over his questions and he put a big smile on my face when he said

That's awesome, I finally have an advertiser which I can talk to directly, not do it throguh a network or something :)

It's always great to hear such comments. He immediately went and joined another program I manage and is looking at the rest.

After some thought about this, while I loved to hear his comments, it bothered me that an affiliate was so excited because he could actually have contact with an AM. I realize this is the norm, unfortunately, but after years as an affiliate and now as an affiliate manager, this absence of communication still surprises me.

AMs out there: If you are not available to your affiliate partners, you have no idea what you're missing. Can your partners contact you via phone, IM, email? Do you reply promptly? If not, why? What kind of "partner" is not accessible? Isn't a partnership about 2 or more people working together? How can you work "together" if you can't be contacted by your partners or you don't answer their email?

My partners who have contacted me know I'm responsive, I help and I'm available. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love this biz!

Yeap, I can definitely add my words of appreciation to you. Very much appreciate being able to have contact with you and your responsiveness. I understand completely how that affilaite would feel cos a lot of affiliate managers have absolutely no contact with me at all. I've managed to have a few sales with some of these so not quite sure what that means.? lol :) If I wouldn't have had a sale I probably now would consider just dropping some of them. I've joined some programs and have never had contact after the initial generic welcome email. I couldn't even tell you who the affiliate manager is. lol

That's why I very much appreciate all of my affiliate managers that do keep in contact with me.:) They've all helped me a lot along the way and appreciate that.:)

Well thank you! I always love to hear this! I've enjoyed our correspondence too. You probably know more about me, by now, than most here :D

You're quite welcome:)...yeap...you know more about me, too lol :) You'll probably notice your head growing larger, too...cos I'm always reminding my "nice guy affiliate managers" how much they're appreciated.:) A shame all affiliate managers can't be like that.

Ummm there is a negative to this tho for some reason....sites I do the best with...umm I don't have any contact with the affiliate managers...haven't quite figured that out yet. I'll work my .... keeping coupons, offers..more content for some sites and it seems the ones that get the sales are always the ones that get the least attention??? There are a few exceptions but for the most part..that's how it is...Very frustrating.

Ok, so if I ignore you it will help you be even more successful? :D JK, ignoring you or any affiliate is not an option.

How else can I help you (besides ignoring you)?
