ABOUT THE JOB
Lavalife is looking to hire a Director of Business Development. The individual is expected to be capable of developing strategic online and offline partnerships that will drive traffic and build our brand. The successful candidate will be able to use his/her experience to prospect, cultivate and execute strategic partnerships and develop and manage the ongoing relationship. You must have online experience in business development and media buying as well as in tracking media effectiveness and developing models to determine project ROI. Must also have professional experience in contract negotiation, client relationship management and market evaluation and feasibility studies.
The relationships to be developed will focus mostly on non-paid partnerships: defined as revenue sharing arrangements or cross marketing opportunities where we exchange traffic with potential partners.
The candidate will develop partnerships that can be established on the online space as well as offline (such as retail outlets, magazines etc). The goal with these partnerships is to drive traffic to the website/IVR product, partner for content, co-branding and e-commerce opportunities.
Buy or oversee the buying of online media to drive traffic to the site
Tracking, analysis and optimization of media buys to meet or exceed set media margins
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Account management/relationship
Contract negotiation and deal implementation
Analysis, modeling and optimization in Direct Response environment
Channel development/developing a new market
Business to consumer environment
Strong written and presentation skills
Strategic thinker
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience business development experience, preferably in an online/internet /ecommerce environment
3+ years of media buying experience , preferably online
University degree, MBA is an asset
