Hello All,

Just signed up after a Google search for "Affiliate Manager Jobs" led me to this forum. I am researching utilizing the services of an Affiliate Manager for our site(s).

My background is retired law enforcement and computer forensics. Which led me into software development and a contract with the National Crime Prevention Council (the McGruff the Crime Dog folks) for developing Internet Safety Software for children. (www.McGruffsInternetSafety.com). We are based in Las Vegas and also have additional lines of Internet Safety Software we will be marketing.

I am hoping to gain a better understanding of Affiliate Management in terms of duties, compensation, expectations etc....

We have not launched any affiliate programs yet but plan on using 1Shopping Cart (comments?) to start with.

If I can assist in any way please contact me!

Steve,

Welcome to ABestWeb! welcome:

You may get a much better response if you make a job posting in this part of the forum (http://forum.abestweb.com/forumdisplay.php?f=209).

As far as affiliate program platform options, you may want to search ABestWeb for threads on in-house affiliate programs vs. affiliate network-based ones, as well as looking into specific names (of in-house solutions and network solutions as well).

Affiliate manager responsibilites were recently outlined here (http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=81985). Salaries differ depending on experience and whether you're looking for someone to work distantly or in-house. Feel free to contact me directly if you are interested in an outsourced options.

As for 1ShoppingCart, I have never worked with it, but if you want to get feedback on it, you may want to start a thread on it in the Becoming A Merchant (http://forum.abestweb.com/forumdisplay.php?f=157) part of ABW. Also, do not forget that you want to find a solution that works best not only for mechants, but for affiliates as well.

Best of luck, and let me know if I can be of any further help. ;)

Geno

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the crime lab!! Computer forensics eh? Maybe you could zero in or parasite and adware and make it vanish!! :smiling:

This place is loaded with information Steve, so start digging in, reading and by all means share your thoughts with us. As for AM's there's no shortage of those here either, but Geno's suggestion is probably a good start.

Best Wishes For Much Success

Alan

Unfortunately....scumware developers just like hackers hide so well and it costs SOOOO much money to track the majority of them down. On the brightside many of the US spammers are finally starting to get jail time and their proceeds confiscated! Yippee!!!!

I'm looking to be a part of this BBS and learn (and contribute!) as much as I can.

Welcome the Crime Busters ABW style. I'd recommend using www.Americart.com as a simple foolproof solution. Takes about 20 seconds to affiliate enable your products for Shae-a-Sale, CJ, and Linkshare or use the built-in affiliate referral system. Perfect for your small number of products and it accepts Credit Cards, PayPal Google Checkout and online check payments.

Nice effort to try and educate the kiddies and teens, but the Adwhore preditors know that your ypoung idiots are easily duped because of their bullet proof mentality. Best post a huge free link to www.siteadvisor.com on your site as that is the only alert they'll get off Badware SERP and PPCSE listings. Post your product's URLs so maybe experts here can see if the toolsets could even stop a B-B gun or P-shooter schoolyard attack. The word FREE and those 24/7 teen chat rooms most likely picking the lock on your system protection tools.

Welcome to ABW and welcome to Vegas! I'm also a Las Vegan and I'd love to catch up. PartnerWeekly and our sister companies have a very large suite of services and technologies for online advertisers. We are located on Warm Springs, just west of the 215.

I'd also like to talk about using your software for a project I'm working on at the moment. Look forward to hearing from you!
