Okay, I'm going to be 'that guy' (or girl) ;). I am getting ready to add you onto my site, and while the product pics are okay, the banners are, well, a little 1990s for my taste. For an elegant type of product, I guess I would expect a more feminine, elegant looking ad. If I put something like this up, I'll surely turn off a ton of people.

Are these it? Will you be creating more female friendly banners that don't scream, well, not so high quality?

This sounds harsh, and I'm sorry. It really isn't my intention, and I am certainly no AM expert, but as a consumer, I look at them and wouldn't click on them even if they claimed a free beer with every purchase. Maybe I am just such an Internet geek, that I'm not spurred by any old advertising, and maybe these convert well..? :confused2

Lisa, not harsh at all. In fact, unlike many, I need an want the feedback of our affiliate. If you are not willing to use our banners; neither of us are going anywhere!

I have ordered banners to replace the "90's" ones. I have also ordered some that target our Anthony David gifts and accessories; which are really doing well. These banners should be available on SAS by Monday or Tuesday. I'll notify you when this is done.

Thanks,
Ethan

Thanks, Ethan. I appreciate it.

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to internet graphics.

I started out surfing on a Webtv. Can I tell you how horrible my graphics and sites were back then? I guess I've gotten spoiled now with all the graphics programs I have. Glad you didn't take offense. I tend to say things as they come into my head, which isn't always pretty. :ecomcity:

I look forward to the new banners. :)

Lisa,

What graphics program do you use? Photoshop? We are looking for a dummy proof software for cropping images (completely removing backgrounds). Wishful thinking?

PaintShop Pro from www.jasc.com includes animationshop for even simple animated banners.

For any program to be able to remove the background completely they need high resolution images and few shadows. I removed the background on a few images from AllThingsTrendy for use on my site (with permission) but it was a lot of manual pixel by pixel work because the shadows are close to the product colors in many areas of the images. You can turn the contrast way up and then photoshop out the backgrounds, then correct the colors; not quick and easy but its the fastest way I know of and it still may need some pixel work. I used a few different programs to unbackground the ones I did but they look a whole lot better. Photoshop is the closest to magic there is but the learning curve is a doozy..just too many options.

Thanks 2busy! We "use" Photoshop; but obviously need to learn the tricks. We have some folks here that are eager to learn! I'll pass the information on.

A free program that can make the Photoshop work ready to edit is Irfanview. It's free to use but they accept well deserved donations. If you are starting with the originals it is much easier than working with 72dpi web graphics, squeezed for bandwith. Irfanview can process entire batches of digital images, even makig them into thumbnails of your specifications, and can create web photo galleries, it's like webmerge for images. It works with a huge variety of image formats and can edit, crop, convert to other formats, etc. well worth a look if you work with images. It is at http://www.irfanview.net/ and was written by Irfan Skiljan, a graduate of Vienna University of Technology who offers free updates as well as a raft of plugins and filters. It won't replace Photoshop but it offers shortcuts to some of the Photoshop processes you might want to use. It's easy to use and everyone should have one.

All,

As promised, new banners have been uploaded to SAS to replace the old ones. More are on the way. In addition, new high quality product thumbnails will be uploaded for many of our products.

Any questions; let me know.

Thanks,
Ethan

Hi Ethan,
I like the new banners are you going to create some 125x125 & 120x60 sized Banners?
