As most of you know, we have 2 beautiful, wonderful great danes that we absolutely adore. We also have a almost 2 year old who wants to love on the dogs so much but they are big and tend to knock him down when he tries to play with them. He gets a kick out of it anyhow.

Okay so that is kind of a coverup story for me to blame this on my son ... hehe ... I wanted a lap puppy as well. So there were multiple motives involved but none the less, here is the latest addition to our family. She is a beautiful white mini Schnauzer (the old man dog). She is about 2 or 3 pounds (horrible judge of weight), but to give you an idea of her size, in the picture below you can see both of our great danes heads next to her.

She is a very lively girl, and adventurous. She's not even a little afraid of the dogs or Braedon, in fact she pounced at Shea (our smaller dane) last night, trying to play with her.

Braedon is learning to be gentle with her, but she is eating up the attention. She runs circles around Braedon then jumps in his lap and kisses his face, then starts running around him again.

The only problem is we haven't named her yet. We have a bad habit of taking a few days to think of a name, although suggestions are welcomed.

My father took a couple of pictures of Braedon kissing the puppy when we fisrt introduced him to her. I'll post them when I get them.

Just wanted to share our latest joy. :)

Other puppy news, Shea is on her way to being Delta society certified so that she can be a therapy dog at our local nursing homes and hospital in the rehab centers. :woohoo:

The only problem is we haven't named her yet.Don't worry about it. We took thirteen days to name *our son* after he was born so take your time! ;)

A very cute little puppy, enjoy her!

ooooooooohhhh, I want her! She's very similar to the little charcoal gray one we got in November except our Maggi is now 15 months old. So cute. We love schnauzers.

I hope I get a chance to meet her someday. Thanks for the pix!

Schnauzers have eyes that look into your soul. It's a good thing they want to please, because they could easily take over. They do like to be in charge of everything, though, and they are very stubborn. You really have to use that desire to love and be loved that the females ones exhibit.

What a cutie! I don't think I've ever met a mini Schnauzer. Standard Schnauzers are great though. Giant Schnauzers are awesome!

Our next dog will be a lap dog. I want a dog that can sit in my lap. I haven't had one of those in a long time.

Enjoy your new baby!

I don't know about you guys but my 55 pound poodle makes a great lap dog. Ya just have to be prepared when she jumps up in your lap...if you (guys) know what I mean.

Cute pup Kristin. Take a few days and a name will come to you from her personality or something will just pop into your head and will be perfect. She looks like a Frosty to me, but that's just what I see.

So Creole thinks she's a lap dog, eh? That's cute...until somebody gets hurt. Our dogs don't try to climb on board, for which I'm very grateful. They'll put their forequarters up on the couch and lay their heads in our laps but that's about it. Anything more than that and everybody's feeling the pain.

I want a Cavachon next. They look like miniature Bernese Mountain Dogs. http://groups.msn.com/CavachonDogs

Kristin,

Congrats on the "new baby"! There's nothing quite like a little boy and his dog, or in your case, dogs. :)

Congrats Kristin on the news addition. As Judi mentioned, we love Schnauzers and now have our third. They are truly a joy, if not a little talkative!!!

Get ready for the noise! My brother had a schnauzer, it yapped all day. I used to tease him and tell him to get a real dog. One that goes woof. You already have that though!
I hope your son has found a new buddy to love and play with! Puppies are so cute!

She is a little "talkative" at night when she goes in her crate and first thing in the morning, but other than that, I only heard one "yiiip" out of her when the other dogs started barking.

Last night, we took her up to Petsmart and got her a puppy groom because she had some much fur in her eyes she kept walking into things. She is all clean cut now and they put a couple of bows in her ears ... they didn't last long but I managed to get a few pics. On top of that, she was pouncing on Max and Shea all night .... she is a little fire cracker ... lol
