If you were with any other network other than linkconnector.com I would join.

Hi Shimmy, interesting you mentioned that and curious why you feel that way. I choose Link Connector as our new platform since it is a win-win for affiliates and merchants. The Grooming Lounge program was with Kowabunga previously and I moved it to Link Connector when I recently took over the affiliate program management.

As an active affiliate myself since 1999 (outside our affiliate program management we currently run multiple affiliate sites internally including coupon sites) I am a member of most programs and all major affiliate networks so I understand your position. I found that good affiliate programs that I would uncover at ABW, Affiliate Summit and other... were on a wide variety of networks so if you wanted to play the game you have to join everyone's network. Not all managers or technology is on the same playing field so if you are serious about affiliate marketing I encourage exploring all options as you may just find a diamond in the ruff. I no longer feel that you have to be in a major affiliate network to be successful. In addition, I really respect a good affiliate manager and a clean well run network and will follow them to the next program regardless of network.

So I designed the new affiliate program to do what the other programs weren't offering me as an affiliate. I encourage you to evaluate the Link Connector benefits below and join the Grooming Lounge program as I plan to help people make a lot of money without the typical constraints.

Link Connector Affiliate Advantages
- I liked the fact that an affiliate can post a link as groominglounge.com vs. a traditional affiliate link that is clearly an affiliate link (fake link below)
- Your site will seem more editorial in nature to users and search engines, which improves your standing as an authority site. Visitors to your site or blog are getting smarter and now realize that when they hover the mouse over your links that the recommended link is a true link free of tracking text.
- From Link Connector: Cookie hijacking has become a big concern in the Affiliate Marketing industry. Many affiliates are having their commissions stolen when spyware running on a user's machine alters the query string in a standard campaign run on any Affiliate Network. When merchants run a Naked Link campaign, the cookie assignment code sits on the merchant's site and is based on the affiliate's URL, not their hyperlink to the merchant. This ensures that affiliates receive proper credit for their traffic whether their promotional page has been altered by spyware or not. Naked Link Technology can also increase an affiliate's outbound link credit for a page. Too many affiliate links can harm organic search engine rankings. Because Naked Links are devoid of any arguments; they appear to search engines to be contextual in nature and can boost an affiliate's search engine optimization efforts.
- Affiliate Reporting is excellent and doesn't time you out quickly!

Merchant benefits of Link Connector
- As an affiliate program manager and seo / ppc specialist, having the affiliate links as true www links is a big plus for the search engines. This helps me and you for obvious reasons.
- Reduces affiliate errors in posting complicated links
- Management interface is excellent
- Email capabilities are intelligent and easy to utilize (I send out weekly emails)
- Payment of affiliates is extremely easy and will happen on time!
- Traffic reporting is excellent

I encourage you to evaluate the program further at - www.groominglounge.com/affiliate.html

Thanks

Hi Michael, with my limited access i wasn't able to access the protected thread on Link Connector you mentioned. Any tips on how to find it in another part of ABW?

On a side note, I wish you guys would lower the bar for access as it really puts a road block up to allowing new forum visitors (both new affiliates, seasoned affiliates and affiliate program managers like myself) to fully participate on ABW. I fully understand the spam concerns but as a member of multiple forums you are one of the few with this high level of blocking access. You have lots of great information and members but if it's blocked you tend to give up and go to another affiliate forum which defeats the purpose of ABW. I am sticking in there and paid for my submission for the Grooming Lounge Affiiliate Program (www.groominglounge.com/affiliate.html) but have to say that unless you let in new members and assign more access I imagine that you loose a lot of repeat visits and reduce the program advertising impact. I know that in due time I will achieve a higher status so just wanted to share my 2 cents.

Thanks and appreciate the help.

Michael

I was wondering why that thread is blocked to, I read it when it was first active, not sure why it's blocked now.

I'm not sure why that thread is blocked. I thought it was public. Perhaps the whole LinkConnector forum is blocked for some reason. They got quite a bit of criticism when they were here, and then they left instead of addressing the issues. Maybe they asked Haiko to make them private? They had some good technology and some innovative ideas, but some of their ideas weren't very affiliate-friendly.
