I feel so lucky to be able to do what I do to earn a living - and have a home in Baltimore and at the beach.

Loxly's thread from Sunday (http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=91523), with the great sunset pictures from her balcony, inspired me to get up early today to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic.

The first image was taken in the dawn a few minutes before actual sunrise. The second picture was just after the sun cleared the horizon. (The pictures are as they came from the camera, cropped slightly and resized, but otherwise "unprocessed.")

So that's our "front yard" in the morning - from 12 stories up. Because I had the camera and the computer going at daybreak today, I even shared the pictures and my thoughts with visitors to my beach site. (HERE (http://www.octhebeach.com/Sun-Rise-on-the-Beach-OC-Things-To-Do.html) )

Those are great. Wow, me the used-to-be-didnt-get-up-before-noon person inspiring someone to get up before dawn... times have changed. And yeah, I watch the sunrise frequently these days too. But sunsets are better from my patio than the sunrises.... :)

Looks like we've got the country covered with "sun" this week. From East to West and from dawn to dusk. :biggrin:

I, too, will share some sunsets one day. Our condo has a Florida room at the back, where we can sit and watch the sunsets. Ocean City is a "barrier island" with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and a large bay to the west; and we are high enough to see across the entire bay.
