All,

Please email me your SAS ID for the $10 First Sale Bonus promotion. Apparently Newbies can't access PM's for a while to protect against spammers. If you've already sent me a PM please email me your info. I apologize for that. I wasn't aware of this policy.

All,

We're very happy to inform you that we have expanded our merchandise offerings and are now carrying accessories which include Handbags, Jewelry, Watches, and Belts. We have also added an intimates category where we are currently featuring specialty bras which are perfect for our low cut and backless tops and dresses. We will be expanding the selection of products in each of these categories over the next week or so. The Product Datafeed is now current with the new merchandise. As we grow these new categories we will also provide new creatives for promoting these items.

Speak with you soon,

Bernard

This includes placement of Merchants marks, registered domain names, and variations of either anywhere within the Head tag section on affiliates web pages including but not limited to the Title tag, Description, or any other metatags. Excessive use of Merchants marks, registered domain names, or variations of either in the body of affiliate’s web pages both as text or hyperlinks is also prohibited.

Get a grip!!!!

Do you want to build my sites for me???

Billy,

There are a thousands of merchants available for you to work with. If you don't like the terms of our agreement, simply don't apply for our program. Our commissions and performance incentives are designed to generously reward those who can drive new customers to our site. We are not interested in working with those simply looking to earn commissions on customers already searching for us by our Trademarks and domain name. I understand that this is not the agenda of all of those using these SEO techniques and that they are acceptable for many merchants. However, due to abuse of these techniques however, we have opted to disallow them in our program. Prior to setting these terms we reviewed them with SAS staff to ensure they were inline with best practices and were not unfair to affiliates. They agreed that the terms were acceptable and perfectly understandable. As a new merchant we feel very comfortable with and trust the judgment and experience of SAS.

I'm glad there are 1000's of other programs to join :)

You think it's acceptable to punish ALL your affiliates because you can't control those abusers... says a lot about your AM skills.

Trying to blame the SAS staff for a decision that YOU control shows a lack of backbone and knowledge on your part.

IMO, it shows you're scared of your own affiliates... or your jaded. To compensate, you feel the need to CONTROL your affiliates - to the extent you want to control even their meta tags. You don't sound like someone I would want to control my sites.

But I DO appreciate you stating all that up front, before anyone applies. And I do wish your company success.

Billy,

While I appreciate your feedback we obviously see it from different perspectives. Remember the merchant has their business objectives for launching an affiliate program and the affiliate has their objectives for joining a program. If the two objectives are not inline with each other they simply don't have to work together. It can all be done professionally and without name calling. As you mentioned, our terms are listed upfront and either its a match or its not. I'm certain the affiliates earning very lucrative commissions in our program do not feel abused whatsoever. The one thing I do agree with you on is that we are inexperienced as AM's. That is why we consulted with SAS prior to setting these terms and thats why we continue to read the ABW message board to learn from those more experienced then us. Thanks for the good luck wishes and I wish you lots of success as well.

Bernard,

If I did any namecalling, I apologize. My writing style is "ruff around the edges", or "I call em as I see em"

That said... your SAS page dispells your "very lucrative commissions" statement. It says your 30 day EPC only $0.56. That's less then adsense!

And it states your 30 day reversal rate is... are you sitting down? 40.00%!!! Is that the highest reversal rate on SAS? In the entire industry???

You keep plugging your high commissions... but SAS shows you take almost half of them back! What causes all those reversals?? I'm sure prospective affiliates would want to know.

Bernard, I'm done. I won't be joining. If my posts sound mean, not meant to be. Meant to show you why I'm not joining.

Billy,

I will not continue go back and forth with you all day however I will address your last statements and then I'll let you comment away.

We are a very new program only launched a couple of months ago. While we screen affiliates to keep out parasites and cheaters and we do have a few very basic criteria for deciding whether to accept or reject potential affiliates, we are very open to accepting affiliates into the program. As you are aware I'm sure, not all affiliates will be top performers and not all will send quality traffic. Being on the otherside as an affiliate in other ventures I myself went from an affiliate sending low quality traffic that didn't convert to one driving high quality traffic and becoming a top producer in programs. Therefore we continue to give all that qualify an opportunity to participate in the program. After two months there are only really a handful of affiliates generating commissions as they are sending a little better quality of traffic to our site. Therefore if you look at their conversion percentages it will be much better.

Regarding generous commissions, I am referring to the 20% Commission we pay based on our margins and compared to similar programs in our category. Both in Adsense and in our program, if the traffic is not quality traffic you will not earn much.

Regarding the Reversal rate you quoted, we all No Percentages don't mean much unless you know what the percentage is from. We have had reversed the transactions of only 1 Affiliate within the last 30 days and within the short nearly 3 month life of our program. This affiliate was advertising under our Trademarks on Google and using Geographic targeting in an attempt to prevent us from seeing their ads. So while I haven't bothered to validate your 40% number, it all equates to a single affiliate's transactions being reversed DUE TO FRAUD. In fact, one that was reversed, should have been reversed anyhow because the Customer actually cancelled their order. We however were still going to payout the bonus and commission on this transaction as we have done for others.

I have tough skin and I don't mind your style, I just prefer as this is business to keep it professional.

Anyhow enjoy your weekend and again I wish you lots of success in your all your future endeavors.

Bernard
