Still, still, still....
Are you going to allow individual catalog linking? No one ever got back to me on that. I will add your site if you do, if not, I can't. Thanks!

Anne, thanks for your note. Due to our contractual agreement with our Merchants, we cannot allow direct linking to individual catalogs. However, you will actually get the best conversion by linking from your page to the category with the most relevant content. We have over 35 specific categories and I will be happy to demonstrate how effective you will be by using the appropriate text link or banner ad for the specific category you select.

Bill, Marifer has not been with Catalogs.com for a number of years so I cannot speak on her behalf. However, I would be happy to discuss particulars or our partner program with you at your convenience. We have recently restructured quite a bit of our program and can customize a program which best works for you.

Attention writers with great content sites!

In addition to getting paid up to $0.75 for each catalog lead your website generates, you can get your name and information around the web when we exchange informational/educational articles between your site and ours.

We will place your original, non-commercial article on our site, with a byline, photo and link to your site. In return, we will provide you with an original custom-written non-commercial educational article for your site, linking back to our articles section. This program allows you to enrich the reader value of both sites, while enjoying the benefits of linking to a high traffic site at the same time.

Remember, because our catalogs are sent "free of charge" directly to the consumer, our Partnership Program provides one of the highest lead conversions on the Internet.

I worked with Catalogs.com a few years ago when I first got started online. Never fully appreciated how well I was getting paid at the time.

There are no other companies that seem to offer free shopping catalogs anymore. I think consumers really liked the idea of getting something tangible sent to them in the mail (like the good ol days). I definitely liked the size of the checks Ithey sent me.

Glad to see your program is going strong. Looking forward to getting started again.

One question though...have you met Joan and/or Jackie and are either of them single? :)

Actually, I was converting really well with links to catalogs directly and not at all ( and I mean NOT AT ALL) with category pages, so I will have to pass. Thanks though!

I can't have a link on a menu that says "Free Dancewear Catalogues" for example? What do you mean you can't say free when promoting free catalogues?

I'm confused.

Does Catalogs.com actually offer catalogs?

I have a site devoted to Personal Creations stuff, so I linked to their gift catalog directory, of which PC is listed

http://www.catalogs.com/search_2.asp?depID=12

Yet when you click on the personal creations link and go here

http://www.catalogs.com/search_3.asp?id=128&depID=12

there's no place to get a catalog.

Just a link that says "Visit This Company's Website"

which goes to Personal Creations' jewelry department.

Is there an actual Personal Creations CATALOG people can get at Catalogs.com????

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your positive feedback. Regardless of the technological advances of the Internet, consumers still indeed like the idea of getting something tangible by regular mail. In our particular business model, all they have to do is visit our website and request any catalog of interest.

The registration process is very easy, no fees, no questionnaires and no credit cards are required. All our catalogs are sent free of charge to any US address.

All the best,

Remember, by promoting our Affiliate Program you can earn a 2nd Tier commission of $0.05. For each Affiliate that joins under your name, you get a second tier commission off of all their leads.

Carlos,

Are you paying any attention at all to the content and questions being raised in this thread? I would be interested in Catalogs.com to put on a couple of my blogs as an ongoing monetization effort.

But take a look at the issues/questions "Billy Kay" raises a couple of posts earlier in this thread.

Do you have any response or explanations for that? Personally, I don't want to sign up and put links on my site that lead to dead-ends when people are trying to get catalogs? popcorn

No questions being answered should tell you all you need to know about this merchant.

Don't join their program.

Hi BurgerBoy, WriterGuy and Billy,

We make best effort to monitor and respond to issues presented on this thread.

In addition, we’ve tried to contact by phone those that have posted (whenever possible) and our company’s direct contact information (including phone number) is also available for personalized service when necessary. We do take our program very seriously.

Because not all pages offer free catalogs (even though most of them do), depending on the nature of the category you are interested in promoting, you may be compensated based upon the relevant traffic generated from your site to ours. You are more than welcome to contact me directly for more information as it relates to your site.

Thank you,

What???????????????????????????????

Am I reading that right?

So the 1101 visitors who clicked hoping for a Personal Creations catalog - only to find CatalogsCom doesn't actually offer one - I can be compensated for?

What rate????? I couldn't find any mention in the TOS.

Billy Kay

1101 x 55 cents = $605.55... that works :)

Wow. I was looking into using this program but this thread has certainly made me think twice. I'd like to know the response to Billy Kay's last question.

HOW will affiliates be compensated for traffic on pages where there is no catalog offer? .....and where can that information be found?

Anne

I have run this program, and would not recommend running it based on the massive restrictions made upon me when I WAS making money to stop that from happening :(
