Wow Danny. That's some amazing content. If you wrote it, kudos!
Either way, it's a great way to help your affiliates know what and how to promote top sellers.

Again, I cannot take credit for the content creation and Must agree it's good stuff.
Thank you, Yeah! I will make a note of that on topsellers. Maybe we can make a seperate RSS feed for them.
(Incidently, they are venetian mirrros, curio cabinets, & vanity sinks that are the best sellers. Grandfather clock could be a real contender, though. )

Thanks Deb. I didn't make it. The smart folks at Homelivingstyle thought this up.
Hope you can use it.

So let me make sure I understand this. Suppose I use the RSS feed from the blog to put content on my site. Someone clicks on a link to find out about fireplaces, mirrors, grandfather clocks -- whatever.
That takes them to the blog entry. If there's a link to merchandise in the blog entry -- it takes them to the Homelivingstyle landing page for that particular product. They buy -- nobody, including me, gets a commission.
So why would I want to use the content on my affiliate marketing site?
Suggestion -- there are merchants out there who have figured out the way to configure their RSS feeds (whether to a blog or merchant site) so that SAS affiliates can simply add their user ID number to the end of the link -- and it becomes content which allows them to earn commissions instead of just send free shoppers to the merchant site.
I've tried to get some other SAS merchant folks to figure this out, but to no avail.
I don't know the coding needed, but if you go to this SAS merchant's forum and check it out, they HAVE figured out the coding:
Why does that name ring a bell with me Danny Kautt?

Danny,
With your permission, I would like to copy/paste the 'content' into my own web pages, inserting appropriate affiliate links of my own choosing.
Then, at the bottom of the article I would add:
Content (c) copyright ~ HomeLivingStyle.com
Is this acceptable?

Writerguy: I understand the click path from a un-edited display would not be desirable. That's exactly what I was looking for from SAS. Thanks!!! I will check it out and talk with them.
Remodel Guy: Hey Jimmy! Great to see you here ( I didn't know) I'll have to read back on your posts and we'll have to talk soon.
Deb: Yes, you can do that. Good idea on the copyright notice. Thank you. I will suggest we get that inserted.

Hi Danny,
Nice to hear from you and thanks for the confirmation.
I realize many may think of this as creating pages with 'duplicate content' - a way to 'shoot yourself in the foot' (so to speak) with the SE's (esp Google). I will have to mull this over and decide if it is a good idea.
My idea is to create a little 'blurb' (rather than the whole story) with a link to the article and a link to a product of my choice relating the the topic being discussed.
Thanks again!

Thanks Rhia. I'm just the messenger and liason.
The content is great. I've noticed these are getting good positioning on google in the few test search I've done.
I sure would like to find a plug and play method of delivery for affiliates. Found this. (http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=7476)
There are some interesting recommendations there affiliates might be interested in taking a look at. Especially, with a php site. I am looking for free and probably javascript solutions for static pages.

Danny, are you sure you got the right link there? I clicked it and it was a humorous discussion of computer mess ups. But after going through it twice -- I failed to find anything useful for php sites? "plug and play" affiliate ideas, etc.

Ya that was incorrect. Here it is http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=74760&highlight=display+rss
Thank you - Sorry `bout that.
Basically, it looks like php is the main method and with a small investment an affiliate can quickly set up the ability to display multiple feeds and mod the links.
Eric Ewe also mentions something here that doesn't look specific to LS
