I'am new to the affiliate program and cannot embed html on my site so can I make a link to the affiliate using an image or will it be just a link without a tracking code to record any transactions?
Thanks alot, Ken

maybe not enough information. If you can't put html in your site what kind of site is it?

most merchants and networks use code with two parts: one for tracking and one for a graphic image. they work together in that case so the picture is also a link and gets tracked.

My site is xtremecanada.com and the host is sibername for another month and thats going to change. I made some mistakes last week when I tried installing the affiliate logos on my site, if you click the Oakley logo halfway down the page you will see what I did. I change my content often and that is why I can't install html without having to redo it everytime I publish.
If anyone has any web-site host idea's I would appreciate it.
Thanks for your help.

and the logo leads one to what we might call a banner farm.

suppose you make a page for each, instead, with some copy relevant to each company or subject? the search engines would be happier with it.

(I should talk -- I have some pages full, too. all in a niche.)

I like that.. a banner farm. I guess I'am out of luck until I change hosts,or have someone else do it with more html skills. I'am the designer and photographer and this code stuff is not my thing.
thanks again.

if you can make pages, you can do something . . .

if any of your merchants are in GoldenCAN or PopShops you can make whole pages that keep up with inventory almost immediately. but make a page for each and tell the visitor why they should buy from the particular merchant.

not all your visitors will enter the site via the main page.

you'll have to study just a little more, though, about php, but not too much. those automatic page generators should be on pages with the extension ".php" unless you've built a small .htaccess file with the instruction (coded) that makes .htm pages treated like .php pages.

use the search function on this forum often, there is a lot here for you.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to add html to your sites if it is your own domain, you should be able to do what you want with it.

Perhaps you should learn HTML it is very easy to learn and there are MANY websites out there that teach you how to code a website. I really honestly don't understand your explanation of why you can't do so.

Yeah, I wonder that too. If your using a php page, you can embed html tags in it.
