Thank you for your patience, we finally have a generic direct datafeed link available. This is still in the preliminary stage, please give me feed backs!

download this feed, open it in Exce.
everything except combos should be in there

Zipping it would be a good idea. Cuts way down on the download time. Plain text zips up great :)

So how often is this going to be updated? I read in another post that your primary datafeed is updated 6 times a day. Is that the case for this?
If I was going to build a website and use this as my newegg product list, would I just have my application download from that link a few times a day? Another way of asking that is how is newegg planning on making this available to the public in the long term?
This will be very useful. Thank you.

Ok, so is this link the long term place to get this info, or are you guys just testing it out here and it will move when you guys are ready to go?
You mentioned this was preliminary, any ETA when it will be final?
Thanks again,
David

Hi David,
This is pretty much the final status of the feeds. When I said preliminary, I actually meant first time sending out to public, and waiting for feed back to implement the feeds.
Sorry for the confusion!

Ok cool. I hope more vendors go this route because I like the flexibility that this solution provides. I understand the 3rd parties are good for the non-coders out there, but if you can program something like this seems like it would work better.
As for feedback, the data looks good, but as was mentioned before, a zipped file would be great to save on download times. I believe text gets about a 90% compression so you are talking 2 megs as opposed to the current 17.
The only other question I can think of is the final link for affiliates. Say you are an affiliate (I am not yet because my site is still being built), what does the final link look like? Obviously what is in the data itself just sends you to the product. Is there a standard affiliate link that incorporates that one?

But isn't the CJ feed updated once a day as well? Not sure how this is better.

hi Scott,
CJ feed actually updates more than once a day (prob 3 to 4 times). So if you want the most current update, and if you sign up our affiliate program via CJ network, I'd say go with CJ.

Hello, I'm happy to see another company with non-network based data-feeds so those of us who are growing our sites can have access.
I would like to suggest that the description column contain more information.
For example product N82E16834220244 has a title of:
ASUS Eee PC 4G - Pearl White Intel processor 7" Wide VGA Integrated Graphics Eee PC
and a discription of:
ASUS Eee PC 4G - Pearl White Eee PC Intel processor 7" Wide VGA 512MB 4GB Integrated Graphics
In general on other data-feeds have descriptions such such as what is found in the introduction of your overview page for that product, or on product N82E16899999032 in the Specifications page's Features area. i.e. a paragraph or so of marketing copy.
This will allow us to present enough information to visitors that they can make a determination of if they want to click over to your site for the complete details.

The only other question I can think of is the final link for affiliates.
LazeeJo can you help with this?
In my investigation it looks like the like:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144011&ATT=11-144-011&CMP=Dotomi&nm_mc=&cm_mmc=Dotomi-_-Cases+(Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form)-_-APEVIA+(Aspire)-_-11144011
becomes
http://www.***********/click-XXXXXXXXX-10440897?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newegg.com%2FProduct%2FProduct.aspx%3FItem%3DN82E16811144011%26ATT%3D11-144-011%26CMP%3DAFC-C8Junction%26nm_mc%3DAFC-C8Junction%26cm_mmc%3DAFC-C8Junction-_-Cases%2B%28Computer%2BCases%2B-%2BATX%2BForm%29-_-APEVIA%2B%28Aspire%29-_-11144011&cjsku=N82E16811144011
Where XXXXXXXXX is my Site PID. Is the number 10440897 unique to my account or is that a CJ New Egg identifier?
So what I see is all links need to be encoded (replace all non alpha numeric characters except - and _ with escaped code) and then linked in this format:
http://www.***********/click-
plus: my Site PID
plus: -10440897?url=
plus: the encoded url
plus: &cjsku=
plus: MPID
Given that the urls are rather complicated it wold be much easier (on us) to provide the affiliates a final URL with a REPLACEME value for our site PID's.
(the links get parsed out, I can not show exactly what the links are like.)

I noticed that data feed hasn't been updated since Feb 21st(the modification time or the file size haven't changed).
I can't imagine Newegg not updating prices in a couple of days.
something wrong?

Hey Cashcash, I'm glad you brought that up. I just checked my logs and yes, it hasn't changed since Feb. 21st.
Newegg Guys, why isn't http://promotions.newegg.com/adfile/Dotomi.csv being updated anymore?
This feed updates every four hours. Please keep in mind that if you do choose to use the direct data feed, you are responsible for your own tagging. If any mistakes are made and the commission is not credited correctly, there is nothing we can do to rectify it. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.

ABW is not allowing me to PM yet, so I continue here:
My site makes great use of these CSV files that you provide. Switching from the Dotomi.csv to the ChannelVersion.csv was not too bad, though there were some major changes. Some fields that I used were dropped, but luckily a field that was added could substitute for it after some logic changes in my code / database.
It would be nice if there were announcements on this forum when fundamentals about these feeds are changed, as I am a serious user of them, and it seems like this ABW forum is the only mention of them.
Regardless, I am grateful that the feed is even offered at all. Thanks again!

Is the feed (
http://promotions.newegg.com/adfile/ChannelVersion.csv) still being updated?
The feed I get from CJ has a product with this SKU N82E16833124336 but the one I downloaded from the direct link does not.

I use that feed, and its still being updated.
That sku is for a 'recertified' product; recertified items pop in and out depending on availability (there one day, gone the next).
The retail version of that product is N82E16833124277.
