New Egg Shopping Cart

I remember reading somewhere (probably here) that newegg does not allow people to access their shopping cart.

Is that true?

It seems hard to sell multiple items if you can't do that. For instance, say your site sells cameras as a newegg affiliate. You have a visitor that is interested in buying a new camera and 5 different accessories. Do you have to send him to 6 different newegg product pages?

It seems to me the customer would just leave you out of the loop and go straight to newegg because to include you would be a huge hassle of flipping between the two sites over and over.

Am I missing something?

If you send them to one of your landing pages, then once they're on the Newegg site and get the other stuff and put it in the cart, you'll get credit for all of it.

Ok, so you are saying that if you send them to newegg one time and they buy 100 things, you get credit for all of them.

That makes sense, but there is no way to make a more "cohesive shopping experience"?

I guess I am envisioning a site that lets you shop for all the items and then when you are done kicks you over to newegg for purchasing.

That's not possible?

Check out Amazon A store.

They have something like that... but they have a lot of technology behind that

From what I can see - since they are using a Javascript to add to cart, trying to do what you want is very be difficult.

They should have a URL like:
http://www.newegg.com/shop/xt_basket.asp?xt_action=add&qty=[QTY]&sku=[PROD_ID]

Then you can drop the [QTY] and the [PRODUCT_ID] into the URL string from your site.
