One of our dogs is part Lab. He likes water so much that he doesn't even mind getting a bath and his favorite food is fish. Rexanne January 6th, 2008, 01:05 AM Awwwwwwww sweet puppy! samsmiles January 6th, 2008, 09:37 AM Thank you Folks for you kind comments. Her name is Hebe and she is 9 years old today! Prosperity to us all David (samsmiles) :) sarahnie April 6th, 2008, 03:52 PM Adorable dog. That is soooo cute :) I would like to get a dog, but I am into surfing by sea abroad. So I will wait 2 or 3 years. Best wishes Tech Evangelist April 7th, 2008, 08:36 AM I had a black lab that was scared to death of water, but he was one of the best dogs I ever shared my time with. When he was a pup my wife pulled him off a dock and into the water. He panicked and was afraid of water ever since then. KimSalvino April 7th, 2008, 08:57 AM I grew up with two Labrador Retrievers and they were the sweetest dogs! The female was a bit of a chewer - she chewed the deck railings, her doghouse and clear through the pool hose. Hebe must be very loved. Wish her a happy birthday for us! amysolovay April 7th, 2008, 11:01 AM She's a cutie! :) My friend had 3 labs. One of them LOVED the water, one of them hated water, and the other one could sometimes be persuaded to get in the water if he really had a compelling reason to. It amazes me, the different personalities that dogs have. mx8829 June 25th, 2008, 03:34 PM we have a shitzu, she loves to take baths. also love the blow dryer .. weired dog lol :P sylviad August 10th, 2008, 12:30 PM My lab/chow mix didn't care at all for the water, but she was extremely tolerant when I bathed her. It was probably her heavy coat that made it unpleasant for her. My first dog, an American Eskimo, didn't mind the water at all. In fact, one day my friends were taking me out in their boat and Nikki decided to follow. He kept swimming after us and I feared she'd go too far and drown. Fortunately, when he'd already gone a great distance, someone in our group swam out and got him and took him back to shore. I just know he would not have turned around on his own. He followed me everywhere. Sylvia singleweird September 6th, 2008, 11:46 PM haha so cute JeremyHFSykes September 14th, 2008, 03:16 PM It's funny, we have had many labs in our family and we got a new one a couple of years ago. HATES water. I am embarrassed for him.. I sometimes want to say to him "come on - you're being a dork. The other Labs are gonna laugh at you."! Nice to know that there are a few others like him. LOL! ecomcity September 15th, 2008, 01:00 PM Surprising as my family had several black and Golden Labs as duck hunting dogs. I remember Golden Lab Brutus, who we got as a big footed pup. He used to swim so far out in Lake St Clair chasing dead fish we'd have to take binoculars to see him. I've shot over Brutus many a times and remember himn even breaking through thin ice to fetch ducks. Heck he even dived under water to retrieve them if they were wounded. Strange. I never saw a Lab who didn't love the water.
