Default Maryland Intern joins the discussion.

Hi everybody I'm Judy Belt from Frederick Maryland.

In a past life I was a CDL truck driver, I'm now an underpaid intern learning internet marketing on my bosses dime. I'm a youtube video advertising intern for a Maryland Commercial Cleaning (commercialbldgmaintenanceinc.com) Janitor Service.

I can't complain (much) because most interns are unpaid. I work for a Maryland search engine marketing consultant and I'm told to learn from people who know more than I do.

My boss says he learned everything he knows, which is considerable, from forums like the Warriors forum. I'm told I'm supposed to learn where to get help is as important as knowing what needs to be done. He tells me to ask at a forum anything I'd ask him so I'm self sufficient.

I just signed up for over a dozen different kinds of forums, some are more intimidating than others. Some are writers forums, some are webmaster forums (talk about intimidating), others are marketing forums.

I didn't know there were so many variations of marketing, I see the term affiliate and don't know what that means, I see arbitrage and dont' know what that means. I now know what a tag is and what a keyword is but don't know much beyond that.

I'm hoping to ask questions here and not be embarassed too much at my ingnorance.

Eventually I'm to conduct video interviews and video commercials to put on youtube for our small business SEO customers.

thanks for reading my intro.

Welcome!

If you're here to drop links, you're not going to get anywhere. (Your links have been removed.)

If you're here to learn, just start reading. If you have questions, try the search options first. You'll probably find the questions (and answers).

That domain is kind of like one I saw on a business card discovered in my wallet yesterday for onsitemobileoilandlubeexpress.com Both are crazy long and unreadable.

Love this from the site: "Janitorial Excellence in Action, photos of Commercial Buildings Maintenance at work."

(could use some janitorial excellence around here)

welcome and good luck in your adventures online. Guess you're lucky to get paid on the job for being an intern... In your case it's almost like you get paid for taking self paced learning courses. I hope they do some mentoring - isn't that what is supposed to happen with interns??

Are there many Marylanders on this forum?

My boss tells me we don't do affiliate marketing, he does a little, but that's not what he hired us for. But I'm supposed to learn about many aspects of internet marketing.

He says it's possible to sell something and never touch it, like offer something n craigslist, but it's really being sold on amazon and he sells it but gets a cut.

I kinda understand that, but it's a bit confusing.

so I joined a dozen forums to learn, I'm supposed to lurk.

So your boss is suggesting that you disregard the terms of service? By link stuffing here? And by listing affiliate items on CraigsList? Sounds like you work for a pretty unethical boss...

Thanks for the warning, though. We'll keep a close eye on what you do here.
