DOD and DOW coming soon - NEED FEEDBACK

In the next week or so I will be starting to post Deal of the Day (DOD) and Deal of the Week (DOW) information.

<insert standing ovation here>

Incidentally, I will NOT post the actual deals here on ABW, as I need to give you all enough lead time to load them, but can't have them out to the general public before we offer them to Vanns.com eNewsletter, Twitter and Facebook subscribers.

<raise one eyebrow, if you can (I cannot)...>

Instead, I will post a note here that says something like
"DOD and DOW for the week beginning 11/8/09 are ready for download at SAS."

<insert oooohs and aaaaahs here>

I will also use the SAS email newsletter to get them out to you. I may even tweet ya'll a flag to go get them (haven't decided about this yet).

How much lead time do you need to get the DOD and DOW on your site(s)?

I will send them in one week blocks starting w/ Sunday-Saturday.

If you got them the Tuesday prior (i.e. 5-days) is that enough time?

Finally... the past couple of SAS newsletters I've sent ya'll have had nearly 30 bad email address returns... if you've changed you email/contact info lately, please confirm that you've updated it in SAS. (thanks! )

What about a dynamic link so we just put it up one time and each day, or week, when you change it - it will change on our site automatically.

If it's a banner make sure its always the same size so it will not mess up our sites.

sounds like a good idea to consider... I can likely do this... would probably load a weekly DOW... then have the DOD change daily to override or post a Monday DOD, a Tuesday DOD, a Wed etc...

ideas? changes? consensus?

You'll probably will never get affiliates to change them manually. We all usually have a lot of different websites and hundreds of merchants. We don't have time to do it manually.

We pay the most attention to the merchants that make it the easiest for us to sell their products.

I use a lot of AvantLink merchants because I can put a dod, dow, and coupons on my sites once and the links update automatically every time the merchant changes the code.

I assume they keep the link code the same and just change where it goes to or what the link says.

I use all 3 on my sites.

Text links and datafeed links will perform better than banners.
