Hello - Geoff
Hello my name is Geoff,
I spent 5 years in the US Army as a linguist and interrogator (no I never water boarded anyone). I have spent the last 6 years working as Microsoft Certified Corporate Instructor teaching Fortune 100 employees better uses for Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Unfortunately that company stopped meeting payroll back in March and I had been on the look for a new career since that time.
I am now working for a holding company that is looking to launch an affiliate program and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed but very excited to tackle a new opportunity.
I will be contacting the appropriate people to officially advertise here in the coming days but I wanted to say hello. I look forward to meeting and interacting with many of you!
On some personal notes - my family is originally from Minnesota so I have been a lifelong Twins and Vikings fan and I love sports and fantasy sports. I live in Utah now and follow the Jazz and Real Salt Lake (soccer - its sad that has to be explained but it is what it is) I used to carry a single digit golf handicap but since getting married and having 3 kids Im a bogey golfer now a days.
Thanks,
Geoff

Hey Geoff. Welcome to ABW.
As for sports...I live within walking distance of both the Orioles and Ravens stadia...but have been rather disappointed with their (collective) lackluster play. Hopefully the Ravens can turn things around tonight on Monday Night Football.

Hey, at least the Real Salt Lake are making it to the big game! What part of the state are you in?

Bill - the Ravens are looking good the AFC wild card race is going to be a lot of fun to watch. I don't expect tonights game to be competitive.
Silver - I live down in Orem - about 45min south of Salt Lake and 25 min from the new Real stadium which is a beautiful place to watch soccer. Where in Utah are you? Ill look forward to see who they are matched up against next year for CONCACAF Champions League Qualification and I hope they can keep the magic going against Donovan and Beckham this coming Sunday for the Cup!

Yeah - but which way? The Browns have had their share of problems but this is a serious rivalry meet-up tonight. Sometimes (too often?) the Ravens have thought they already won the game before stepping on the field. Might be fun to watch - guess I'd better wrap up what I'm doing in the next two hours.

Ill be shocked if the game is still close into the 4th quarter - the Ravens should handle things. But you would know better than me.

Welcome Geoff -- are you originally from Utah? I knew a few Geoff's growing up. I was born and raised there. Lived in Murray after I got married. Miss the four seasons and looking forward to "Going home" for Christmas to hopefully lots of white snow .

Well, welcome to the forum. I'm up in Ogden. There are quite a few others on ABW here in Utah as well.

Bonnie - I am originally from Utah - graduated from Provo High. Spent a lot of time overseas as a missionary and with the Army and then ended up back here.
We are having a gorgeous fall this year - the last few years didn't get much of a fall - went from hot to snowing and cold within a matter of weeks. This year though all kinds of colors in the mountains and some gorgeous blue skies with 50 degree temps. I love this time year (the fact that its also baseball post-season, soccer tournament season, NFL is in full swing and the start of the NBA season doesn't hurt either LOL)

Actually it was an interesting game - all defense for the first half. Zero-zero going into the locker room was a bit of a surprise. Had it not been for two distinct plays in the second half it might have been a 3-0 game. The Browns definitely "surprised" the Ravens for half the game.

Bill - I guess I had a higher expectation of the Ravens. Of course I was basing my opinion mostly on how Baltimore and Cleveland looked against my mighty Minnesota Vikings.
