Default Top 10 Internet Moments of the Decade

"The birth of Wikipedia, the death of Napster, the iPhone, Facebook and Twitter have been named by the Webby Awards as among the top 10 Internet moments of the decade."

They left one off.. the year I started my first affiliate site

Seriously though, I can't believe Google's initial public offering was in 2004. Feels like no more (max) 3 years ago.

See anything they missed?

What happened to MySpace? That was the next "it thing" where newscorp paid close to $600 million for it in 2006 and at one time one of the most visited site online. Finshed reading a book about MySpace called Stealing MySpace which was publish this year. Interesting facts.

Yeah, it seems they missed the boat there.

Wikipedia says it "MySpace became the most popular social networking site in the United States in June 2006."

What about the launch of ABestWeb in 2001?

I'm not sure, but I think FB may have won the social networking site wars. And they were around before MS, so maybe that's why they got a mention and MS didn't. At least they won the social networking wars with me. I got tired of garish backgrounds, blaring music, and odd colors on MySpace pages.

Yeah, I thought that, too...until I realized that my first commercial site was in the PRIOR decade. No wonder I was feeling may age when I read that.
