Hi from North Texas
I have been marketing different programs on the net for many years,I am a six figure earner with one of my businesses, dabbled in affiliate marketing with not much success.
Now I decided to start a affiliate marketing blog inspired by a lot of you here,
I am guessing that affiliate marketing requires same advertising techniques as marketing any product.
Looking forward to learning and sharing!
Terri

Howdy, Terri! Good to have you here.
I'm kind of curious, though. You said you dabbled in affiliate marketing with not much success, yet you're starting an affiliate marketing blog. Why would you blog about something that you haven't figured out yet? There must be hundreds of affiliate marketing blogs out there. Or am I misunderstanding what you meanby an affiliate marketing blog?
There are a lot of similarities between online and offline marketing, but there are many differences too. With both, making things easy/convenient for the consumer to find what they want is an integral part. The reach and some of the possibilities online are much better. Many general concepts are the same, but the implementation of those concepts can vary.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Michael, when I say I dabbled in affiliate marketing I mean I would add links to some of my websites but not really promote them.
I decided to start a blog that will showcase some of the affiliate products I have successfully used.
Over the years I have tried many different strategies, tools, systems that I learned from reading e-books, watching videos, attending webinars and generally buying informational programs.
I have been interested in marketing since my college days but again as I said mostly when it involved a particular product or business with my niche being software particularly medical. (as opposed to being an affiliate for the product, if that makes sense).
I had much success with medical software as well as medical office organizing, which led to getting involved over the years with affiliate products
such as filing products etc. However after getting burned out organizing and after the practice management software industry totally changed I decided to pursue a more fun type business which is travel. Yes a huge change in career!!
To this day I am involved with medical billing
BUT whether it involved software or travel, marketing remained a huge part of it all!
So when I say I dabbled I mean I never really pursued promoting or marketing affiliate products and now with more experience in marketing I feel I can be an asset as an affiliate. Therefore blogging my experiences.
Hope that explained my goals a little clearer.
Terri
PS that's why I am here to learn from you all.

Welcome to the ABW steakhouse, where you get all the prime steak you can handle and none of the fat.
-figured this Texas-themed greeting would make you feel at home. *quite surprised that MC doesn't use this as his welcome greeting*
